I used to love playing this game as a kid but this version just doesn't work. I mean i can boot up the game but i can't get past the language selection screen because it's just extremely laggy. The previous time i tried it out, i was able to start it but the controls were just pretty much none existed. I stood up on the first race for like 10 minutes trying to figure out what they are and just gave up. I think i couldn't even remap my keys even though there is an option available in the settings.

Using an AMD gpu here, so maybe it's just a driver issue due to the game being a gazilion years old.

The game really needs to let people save and come back later. Im only on the first mission and i can only imagine if i had to take bigger jobs, it would be simply impossible to complete the whole thing in one go. Especially when you put in perspective the fact that your goal is to reach at least 99% completion in a said job in order to complete the contract. And there's no skipping, unless you want to completely erase your progress.

We should've had the ability to complete the contract earlier , say at 90-95 % , take less reputation for it or money, or even both and just move on to the next job.

I do like how similar to Powerwash sim, there is an option to highlight the lawn and check if we've missed a spot or not. At the same time we should've been able to use this function, WHILE mowing and not having to come to a complete hault and then enable to function for a split seccond. Again Powerwash's implementation of this function is much better.

I like how there is a recommended time for completion but it's kind of pointless to be pressed with time, when you have no option to save and come back later, it just adds an unnecessary burden to the player to perform faster, without even being given the tools to do the job faster.
And here i'd like to mention another problem which is being unable to drop your string trimmer on the ground next to you. Basically any time you need it, you have to run back to your car instead of dropping it on the ground somewhere close and just picking it back up. On top of that, you have to collect your grass patches because supposedly the game will give you penalty points for not doing it. Which would be fine again, if i had a pause and save option and the tools to perform the job faster,

Early Access Review
I gave this game another chance but it's still a thumbs down for me. Initially my main gripe was that the game didn't have an item builder and that the item purchase store needs to be improved and it overall the game just didn't seem like enough of a reason to move onto Smite 2. I just felt like if i'm getting an itch to play smite, i'd prefer jumping into Smite 1. And that just hasn't changed for me with Smite 2 even after giving it a try again. Especially when taking into account that i have more gods to play with in Smite 1. And honestly even though there's less amounts of players in the first game, machmaking is definitely much better, players are generally more aware of how the game is supposed to be played, so the individual lobbies themselves are much more fun.

Something i didn't really grasp at first but i find to be a pretty big problem now is how the whole game in general feels very saturated and high contrast. There's too many effects and color on the screen that it's just feels overwhelming and it's like i can't even mentally keep up with what's happening on the screen, especially when i'm big 5v5 fight. Smite 1 always had that element of being a bit messy since it's in third person view but this game just takes it to a whole other level. And for the record i have no issue with this in Smite 1, but when i jump into Smite 2 i really find it hard to keep track of everything and my eyes grow tired very quickly.

Generally i don't mind games with saturated graphics, it's just with this game it's different. It's not just the saturation as i explained above. Everything on the screen feels like too much The intensity of the colors and effects really needs to be dialed down. I appreciate the new item and god changes but it's kinda hard to enjoy them properly without an item builder. Plus all those other things i mentioned, it's just makes the game not very compelling to me.

The playlists are fun to play but that besides that, the rest of the game just lacks depth and long term replayablity. No class based racing, which means not much opportunity to use my cars. The playlists themselves too don't require using my own cars. Don't like the upgrade system. Don't like the main stage being very much tied-in with the live service. No option to turn off TAA, no option to use something like VSR and upscale my game to improve the Anti-aliasing. Sharpening effects don't help return the loss of the detail. Weirdest thing about it is that the game has areas where no AA is applied, yet somehow they won't allow us to turn it off? Why?

The handling is an improvement over the crew 2 but it's still not quite there. Cars will generally slide more, have more weight transfer. And that's fine but also for some reason the cars tend to get into some of the weirdest spins and body-movement, similar to nfs unbound. I'd be driving a GP racecar and it just doesn't feel good to drive. Lots of understeer on corner entry, lots of rear slide. And using nitros doesn't help the car grip up, so you better stabilize it before using it.

People might compare this to Forza Horizon and it actually does take some inspiration from it, but it's still very much the crew game. Worth playing? Yes but buy on a discount. Game has a long way to go. It needs to evolve more. A pc game in 2024 capped in 60 fps, no full screen mode, no fsr/dlls. Cmon ubisoft.. This is unacceptable.

Fun but also filled with many many annoyances when it comes to some of the racing routes and the controls. Like in this game you pretty much either steer or you don't. I know that's kind of a thing in these 10+ old racing games but here in Most Wanted it's much much worse. And on top of that you have city racing with traffic which makes it 10 times more annoying when you literally can't steer the car exactly how you want.

Acceleration and breaking is the same deal. There's little control that you can do and there's quite a bit of external factors again that will mess up your racing. And honestly the overall increased difficulty of the game comes from this. If you remove this factor from the equation the game isn't quite as challenging.

Progression wise it's good but nothing too impressive. Unlocking the most wanted races is fairly easy but quick.

A good nfs game overall. It doesn't have a ton of content but it manages to utilize what i has quite well. The racing is fun, the handling is not too bad , at times can be a bit unresponsive and dull , reminds me a bit of nfs 2015 but it's actually usable and not frustrating to deal with. Although drifting is still bad and the game does have drifting challenges but at least you can skip them. Not too fond of the online , i think the most recent NFS game/ unbound does a better job at it. Game progression could"ve been better.

The 30 fps issue is fixable. I used the launch option commands that unlocks the fps but i set it up to 50 instead of 60 because it was causing my race events to get abandoned on their own. I can't help but feel like there could've been more to the game.. I don't know exactly what it is. Maybe if the devs had more time to work on it i'd be a much better game? Or maybe it's me expecting a AAA quality here. The last time i played this was 10 years ago. And the standards for games are much higher now.

Engine sound can cut off or it glitches on some cars like the fiesta r2. The career mode is fairly well made. You can basically play regular career+ the management aspect or a seasonal mode which basically makes you sign a contract and off you go racing! There is a testing area where you can drive freely. There is a challenges mode which is basically time trials on different test track layouts.

The handling is an improvement. Game difficulty isn't well balanced. I found historic rallies difficulty a lot more difficult. And on the other hand rally cross stages are significantly easier which is the case with older WRC games as well.

These games often sell with high discounts and they're a good deal. If you want to experience some authentic rally racing this is the game for you. If you're fairly new into this genre i recommend you try WRC 7 first. The handling is a bit more forgiving/more fun and it's basically the same game without the management/ R&D aspect.

The negative reviews have no idea what they're talking about..Again for the trillionth time premium edition content was announced before even the game launched. And you did receive everything. The 2 expansions , the car pass, the drift cars car pack and the starter cars pack + VIP. These car packs have NOTHING to do with the premium edition. THEY NEVER DID.

Every single horizon game has been releasing car packs this way . On top of that the game keeps on feeding you monthly content with more vehicles for free for as long as you play the game. You don't have to buy these car packs yet you continue to do so and then complain about it for not having them included in the premium. It just makes no sense. Horizon 5 is bad for a lot of other reasons. This isn't one of them.

Personally not the most attractive car pack to me. I received this for free from a giveaway

Great physics but broken AI and difficulty is unnecessarily high. The difficulty setting which is unavailable for the career mode is all over the place. A difficulty of 40 and a difficulty of 1 doesn't seem to be any different. The progress bar is unhelpful as it actually makes you think you're doing great through the stages but then you'll fall back in positions when you finish the stage. And judging by the "class leader" AI also seems to pull off some impossible speeds. It seems scripted to me as i can see the class leader always getting speed and loosing speed at the same parts of a stage.

The historic rally championships shouldn't have been locked to a podium finish in order to be able to move on the the next car category since each of these cars will become progressively more difficult to drive. The career mode gets repetitive and it lacks structure, also needs more rally locations. Buying more locations will also not expand your career mode!

I guess i can't complain too much since i've paid like 5 euro for this many months ago. It's arguably not as great as the positive reviews % might make it seem like. It's a bit of a fake echo chamber. If this game had released exactly like this in 2022/2023 it would be a completely different story. It's perfectly playable on a controller and it runs well. I guess you could get something out of it. So its not a total loss. A great handling model alone doesn't make for a great game.
