This isn't a game that you love or hate. This is one of those games that you experience. From the gameplay to the graphics to the story it writes, it is unique and utterly beautiful.

Holy crap this game. The narrator is great. The story is great. All of them. I was expecting to get bored at some point, but the gameplay is pretty fun and it's very entertaining to master it. Admittedly I felt a little frustrated finding the right path because I apparently decided to completely avoid one of the 'truth's and so it took me a lot longer to beat than it should've. It is a very entertaining journey and, for people who want to maybe stream, I was thinking this game would be a great one to have user input to guide the streamer through the journey.

A platform akin to the metroid series that sports a very cute protagonist and a beautiful environment as well as very fluid controls. The gameplay itself is very fun and I don't think there's ever been a moment where I feel like I was unfairly punished by the game. Anytime I died, it was always cause I sucked at it as opposed to the game being unfair.

Only gripe is that the hunt for all of the collectibles is rather unforgiving, especially given how hidden some of them are and how you can lose access to some of them and then if you beat the game, the save is completely locked and you can't go back to explore. Maybe that has changed since I last played, but I believe last I checked that they said they had no intention of changing it.

Regardless, I definitely recommend this game.

I absolutely loved Dishonored as well as Dishonored 2, particularly for the abilities that you could utilize. This game is similar in the sense that it also boasts having different abilities and, I must say, it does so rather well. Being somewhat hesitant at first to buy it, I think the gameplay and control was done really well and I feel like it was a very fluid way of controlling things.

Story wise, I loved it. While some may complain that memory loss is an overused trope, I could care less as long as it used well and I think this game did a pretty good job of doing it.

The ascetics of this game are also certainly very charming, using something like a cell-shaded environment that plays a lot with shadows. I think the usage of shadows as the core component in the stealth aspect of the game was very intriguing and definitely a unique take.

The only 'complaint' I would have is that the AI for this game isn't perfect all the time in some situations. Some of the boss fights were also a little buggy and weird, but to some extent that added to the challenge and the feeling of satisfaction from beating it rather than creating a sense of despair.

While this game had an interesting and promising premise, I feel like the execution left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I was suckered into buying it from all the promises that were made and it didn't take long to realize that this game is more or less an extremely repetitive and gimmicky GTA-esque game where you roam around a city and do whatever you want. I would recommend this game only if you like any game that keeps with this formula, but must warn you that the game itself feels like it could have been so much more and it really shows as you play through it.

Having never played the earlier games in this series (I played Human Revolution, but nothing before that), I was certainly enjoying this game as well as its predecessor. That said, my recommendation is dependant on what you thought of Human Revolution, as I could honestly say this game is very much in the same lines as HR. The inclusion of non-lethal ways of taking care of bosses certainly helps make this game a little bit better as far as feeling like your actions matter.

Being a huge fan of the first game, this game was on my watch list the second it was announced. Having played through it 1.5 times at this point, and planning at least another 1.5 times to finish some achievements and get the different endings, I have to say this game certainly does well as the successor to the first game. Game mechanics are improved upon and deepened. The lore and vastness of the world is certainly something that has also been improved upon as well.

The only two gripes I would offer up regarding this game are the optimization of it as well as the story. For the optimization or lack thereof, the game is certainly one that looks beautiful and is definitely much more detailed than the first, this unfortunately comes at the cost of performance, suffering from drops in framerate, even on the lowest settings at times. And, something more of a personal gripe, is the fact that the story felt a little less compelling than in the first game. In the first game, I felt the motivation behind Corvo's actions, but in this one, it felt a little lacking. The "halfway" point in the first game where things were switched up left something to be desired in this second iteration and definitely left something to be desired as far as deepening the story. It was very straightforward and I didn't personally feel as motivated by the story.

A story of love, tragedy, and redemption as I headshot everything that moves because I AM VENGEANCE!

Ahem. Good game. I like it. Elizabeth is a wonderful companion that makes the game come to life. Much better than that freaking claptrap.

You can teleport. YOU CAN FFFFING TELEPORT. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE. YOU CAN TELEPORT AND STAB PEOPLE. You can also mind control people and walk them to their dooms. Or just blow them off the edge. OR SLIDING KICK THEM OFF THE EDGE.

Good game.
