I've gotta write this to try and counterbalance all the negative individuals here.

This game is GOOD. The only reason it is getting negative reviews is because the launch has gone terribly awry as the servers have been buckling under the load both because of the sheer number of unexpected players, but also an undisclosed issue that's has occured that never came up during testing.

The devs have promised an explanation once the issue is resolved which is understandable.

I have seen plenty of AAA games and multi-billion dollar companies release MMO expansions and have JUST as bad a time. The difference is those companies have the money and man power to fix things quickly!

The devs do not deserve the negative comments that many of these unfortunately LOUD people are throwing their way. Half of them won't even bother to play or update their review once the issues ARE fixed.

I have to write a few things about this to try and help debunk myths and rumors spreading. Lets start with my rating for this game. 8.5/10
Lets get down to this recommended review here.. "-It has zombies! -It has micro transactions! -It doesn't work!", the "Recommended by Curators" review. Its by PewDiePie. In case you don't know who he is, he's a guy who is borderline schizophrenic who seriously needs to sort out some issues he has, yet somehow gets viewers. Besides that his review is probably the worst summary you could give this game.

Yes it has Zombies. Zombies who are able to be handled 1 by 1, but if you get a few around you, you usually run a safe distance to regroup. Zombies are obviously in some hotspots, like in towns and whatnot, but also litter the roads. Not too hard to take out, but enough for a challenge and will definitely kill you if you aren't paying attention.

Yes it has Micro-Transactions. For skins. Mostly for skins. LET ME TAKE A MOMENT TO DEBUNK AND EXPLAIN THE P2W MYTH --- The game has airdrops. You can BUY airdrops with real life currency. Only one can be called at a time with a minumum of 50 people in the server. The idea is for it to be contested. At Launch (1/15/15) it had some OP stuff. Like you could get a gun, 20 rounds of ammo, best backpack in the game + an explosive. Thing is SoE originally said they wouldn't do this. They changed their minds. NOW. You can kill someone and take thir airdrop. it doesn't land on top of them, they have to chase it down as well. When it drops it spawns about half a dozen zombies with the crate. Also bright colorful smoke. Takes 5 or so minutes to reach the ground. Since release, they have reduced the amount you get, and rarity of items you get from crates.
TL;DR of last Paragraph. Air Drops aren't OP anymore.

Doesn't work? Oh Pewds... Probably upset he couldn't log in day 1. This game had a terrible launch day for early access. Servers got flooded, people couldn't log in, game was crashing. They should have taken more time but people were on that hype train. Now? Game works REALLY well.

Truth is, this game is coming out pretty decent for an early build. It already has implimented and working all the features Bohemia is working to add to DayZ over the next year..
The Devs are wonderful. In the last week alone there has been hundreds of Tweets from j_smedley and multiple patches. IN THE FIRST WEEK. To fix a lot of major issues. Devs are vocal and working hard to make sure this game is working well.

Oh one last thing. For anyone who cried P2W on air drop crates. The devs offered a no questions asked refund for a couple days for some very unsatisfied customers. Their numbers were about .5% of people asked for a refund.

I would definitely recommend this game and cant wait for it to get even better.

And oh yeah, when it is in full release, it will be free to play!

I don't know what to make of Nether yet.. as I've played it only an hour.. but first impressions aren't that good.

1. Make an account. Have to bind it to a site I have never heard of because I bought on steam.. O.. K..
2. Sign in fails because I didn't want to bind account.
2 1/2. Sign in after binding account.
3. Finally server list. "Four server? Where's the rest. There HAS to be more than 100 people playing right now.."
4. Pick a server and make a character really quick.
5. Starter quests. Cool. I got a gun and ♥♥♥♥ I am READY.
6. Exploring safe zone. Gun shot. Names on death feed. "Lol fus ro. I saw you jump. I scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of you." Jackass is campng safe zone entrance from inside safe zone.. doesn't bode well.
7. Finish starter quests IN safe-zone. Time to leave.. See a naked man with a santa hat on run into the city incredibly fast, whilst explosions are set off in his wake. Camper didn't kill him because he was too fast.. and hacky. (HACKER) nope.jpg
8. Go out other exit. 20 ft from exit I see wormholes. Monsters pop out. OSHIT. Start shooting with coffee can shotgun. Kill everything but giant brute who is is ready to ram my butthole. Finally kill him.
9. Decide to collect my loot. Here's gunshots in distance. Hurry collect loot and run.
10. Die to a hacker who teleports to me immidietly after.

Srsly. Im upset I wasted 6$ on this game.
