When 14 years have past, you get to know alot about life. Certain things just click, like the fact that you have hundreds of hours per week in games you aren't good at, you have no social life, you're a disgusting weeaboo with no real motivations or reason to live. You keep telling yourself you'll change one day as you sink deeper into the addiction, and that you aren't that into anime, but in the end you'll only fool yourself. There just isn't anything you can do about it. You weren't the fastest runner as a kid, you slept during math class in middle school, and going into high school you tell yourself you're going to have the time of your life, but that just isn't true. The real time of your life comes behind the scenes with a body pillow, not showering for months on end and only leaving the basement for chicken tendies and to pick up erotic figurines of fictional underage japanese schoolgirls you ordered online. But that's perfectly fine. Sometimes Sword Art Online is better than real life. Sometimes body pillows are better than girlfriends. And each person decides what values to live by.
