338.6 hrs on record (324.4 hrs at review time)
Have about 330 hours in this game and enjoyed for the most part but slowly and steadily the developers seem to have lost their mind.

First the constant dlc. Not so bad, always nice to have extra content in the game, however over time the quality and quantity got worse and worse to the point where it became a complete joke, with DLC being an advertisement (Alesso heist, Alesso is a DJ or something. This is something I happily would have never known if it wasnt for this DLC, good job!).

The "Events". The first crimefest was great, lots of free content as a thanks for increasing their social media presence. Also included an advertisement for John wick, however it wasnt obnoxious and it came after lots of free content so I considered it to basically be a wash. This was a sign of the future however.

Then there was the hype train. This is the point where overkill lost me as a customer, although this was recoverable by them. This event worked basically the same way as crimefest, increase the number, get reward. However the way that the number was increased was through the sale of DLC packs and preorders of Hotline Miami 2. so the content earned in the event was "free".

The point that Overkill completely lost me has recently passed. The recent crimefest event. I decided that I would probably get back into the game to see what content overkill had added and enjoy crimefest as a whole. Then day 1 happened. I dont really want to get into loads of detail as the backlash is easy enough to search for in the steam reviews and on the internet in general, but basically they added CS:GO style skins. This was added in a game where if you were to buy all the game and all of the DLC as it came out it would come to around £100. If this isnt bad enough to you then they also made it so that the game now has pay to win elements, as some of the skins also have stats attached to them, so if you spend money you are automatically better than someone who isnt, someone who may have spend up to £100 on this game already. As well as that this also came on the first day of an event full of "free" content.

Do I recommend this game? No.

Do I recommend you ever give your money to Overkill? No, I certainly will not be giving them anything more, I have given them enough already. They have lost me as a customer forever, Starbreeze as well.

Overkill (and Starbreeze) have taken advantage one too many times and have pushed their customers too far, I will not support this in any way.
