On september fifth, Joseph Galindo, AKA j o e y AKA Datsik [kA], passed away from severe brain cancer.
He was back packing when he suddenly fell unconcious. They rushed him to the hospital on August 31st, but by Monday, he had passed away. Apparently, Joey had been hiding his symptoms and so the group medic of the hike didn't know, and neither did his doctors. Joey did not regain conciousness before he died, and passed peacefully, enjoying his favorite past-time. I remember when he came on for the last time, he left me with a few words. "Never be afraid to be who you are ight bro? Be who you are and hold yo head up high ;) No matter what happens, just hold your head up high."
