Hey, guys. I've got a great idea. What if System Shock played like a video game, instead of Windows 3.11 For Workgroups with a worse text editor?

Traversal is fun and good. The upgrade trees are neat, and for the first few hours the story is fun!

Then it becomes evident that this iteration of Faith Connors believes strongly that if you kill a horrible person, it makes you just as bad as the horrible person. This is explicitly a narrative introduced into our civilization through fiction by horrible people who are afraid that one day they're going to end up on the wrong end of the knot, the blade, or the bullet.

We should stop encouraging this narrative.

Mass Effect is a startlingly boring game. It's got poor-to-fair shooting, unnecessary RPG elements, a Groundbreaking Moral Choice system that is none of the above, and in general is your traditional steaming BioWare turd.

Seriously. This isn't a joke. The third game feels like a simulation of life working in IT. There are fires everywhere, everyone wants to talk your ear off about their problems, and you are the only person working on the problems. The underwhelming ending and outright bad combat don't help.

Go play Destiny instead, 343 Industries wouldn't know how to let you shoot a man in the grundle if you individually shot all their men in the grundle.

The previous sentence is not to imply that 343 doesn't hire women or that somehow it would be worse to shoot women in the grundle, I'm just not sure that they have those.

FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is set in a fictional version of the 1980s where - in stark contrast to the real world - a polytheistic religion known as "Christism" is the demographically primary belief system of the United States of America. The player takes on the role of "Father" John Ward, a Christer magician, who failed to purge one of his religion's lesser gods, Second Death, from a child one year prior to the game's events. Unable to deal with the subsequent death of the child's family, Ward embarks upon a journey to prevent the rise of the malicious gods Malphas, Alu, and Asteroth. Along the way he'll examine his relationship with the god called Christ, lose and gain valuable friendships with other humans, and potentially even get shot by police who won't run into a school despite the screams emanating from inside.

Join Ward as he takes up his Crossed Wand in a millenia-long fight between supernatural powers in FAITH: The Unholy Trinity.

It's passable. Don't buy it unless it's on at least 50% sale.
