Awesome game, best EDF so far. It's long, well-balanced, and the story was surprisingly compelling.

It's really good.

I read a review that said "it's a remix of a song you love" - the song you love being Pokemon - and I'm inclined to agree.

2v2 strategic battles with huge degrees of customization and really novel type "chemistry" interactions

Amazing game. It's a fantasy tactical army management campaign. The scenarios are excellent, and there is tons of room for expression in how you build your army. The game isn't afraid to change things up on you or get creative either, but the devs are always careful to make sure the experience stays rock solid no matter what curveball they throw at you.

This game is great. You learn to deconstruct and salvage ships. At first it start to feel like they're defined puzzles, where you peel apart pre-defined cut points and break things into small prefab sections before jetting them out to process. As things go on, you start to run into problems that this pre-fab approach won't solve, because things that need to go to different places can't be separated via the cut points. You start to learn that leaving some cut points in place is convenient, because it lets you move chunks together. Things open up gradually and have a natural learning curve where there are multiple answers to problems, and they aren't all spoon-fed to you. It's a great process.

The plot is also cool. Union strong!

The game is phenomenal. It's an evolution of the souls series in a way I didn't expect. It expands into new methods of play that allow player agency in choosing fights, engaging/disengaging, tactics and encounter order while maintaining the brutal and tactical combat the series is known for.

There are currently widespread performance issues, but I am confident that the devs will improve the situation. If performance is a concern for you, I recommend buying and playing up to the first open world area. You can refund if it doesn't work properly. I am well above minimum specs and get 30-40 fps at 1080p. I sometimes get stuttering and slowdown to ~13 fps. It's playable for me but has significant hiccups that make my heart sink. I know it'll improve with time, but for some people this will be unacceptable. Either try, or wait until it improves if that sounds like a dealbreaker for you.

When I bought this game at first, a recent updated made the game unplayable. I reported them on the community forum and the dev fixed everything within a single day.

The game is incredibly clever and dynamic. Your individual units have fairly simple abilities, e.g. "charges forwards two tiles and pushes anyone in the way" but those abilities can combo to create an incredible number of options on a given turn. There's a lot of depth here and a wild creative energy to the mechanical design.

THE quintessential WRPG. Interesting world and quest design, great writing. You can engage in a variety of outcomes and approached with multiple minor and major factions. Combat gameplay was dated when it came out, so it really doesn't hold up now. But the RPG behind it all is excellent.

I was weak and starving alone in a city. Couldn't do anything cool or productive, so I spent a few hours watching the town guards kill lumpy monsters and then scavenging their meat to cook and leather to sell. I picked one up and carried it around to strength train. 10/10 would crawl around like a gutter rat again
