I wasn't part of the beta but I did played My Time at Portia.

My initial review at Early Access is the game look like a well upgraded version or Portia.]
If you liked Portia then surely you will like this too as from the looks of it its a bigger world, a lot more crafting, a lot of new things, more stuffs to do, more customization a fresh and new landscape and spoiler alert you don't get Higgins instead we get a waifu builder (maybe).

For new comers, I recommend this game especially if your into crafting.

After 20+hrs of offline gameplay, I'm moving on from the game.
I give it a 7/10.

First time I played I savoured the great graphics and scenery that lies before me, but what awestruck me is how you can interact with everything that I thought was just a model for background. I mean like any amazon jungle it's filled with plants and trees and to think all  these resources were spawned to make a naturally nice scenery.

For the game, you will encounter lots of events/accidents that when not dealt properly will lower your health/sanity which will lead to death. Knowing the proper treatment and having a base to settle down is pretty much end content and easy to acquire. You have to roam the jungle though to find recipes to craft new tools like more traps, beds, etc but risk of encountering danger from tigers to leeches.

Some people compare it to Rust, but this is PVE oriented, and the base you build can't be as complex as Rust. And it doesn't support multiplayer as of now nor the weapons inclined for a PVP.

As it's still in the early access, it has a lots of bugs during loads. And the story isn't done yet, although the tutorial/early story was well made and recommended to knowing the game. Overall give this game a chance.

For those that like this type of genre. I got hooked going forward to the storyline, completing achievements thru grinding.

Although I enjoyed this game it was not on the same level as how I was deeply in love with Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley was sweet refreshing free to do whatever you want. While this game is dark humor and I find it incomplete to the point where the game is unbalanced. There are many NPC that feels 'could' also have a story and a map extension in the future like it was hinted in the ending that they would if like to make a DLC about it. Although you can do various stuff like fishing, farming, beehiving?, fixing your graveyard/church and other tons of stuff, you are oriented to focus on the story otherwise you are stuck on a grindfest of just focusing on your graveyard which you will be forced after completing the story. Fishing is boring which is on fixed locations and no season to catch a different type on same location, farming is just there for you so you can pay carrots to your boss donkey and some hemp for blue points otherewise its not worth the pain to grow and sell for gold. The dungeon is just a one time 15level access so you can acquire quest related items for the story, And many more stuff that you could do but find it not worthwhile. It is also unbalance that I find what I earn from selling things in early and late game is worlds apart. And I dont know if it was designed but the more items you sell in bulk would earn you less than when you sell it bit by bit over the weeks, ANDD the more items you buy in bulk grow more expensive. There are many varying items that could help but it's a super chore to make them that I again I find it not worth the pain when I played the game a second time.

Despite my rumblings about this game, I did enjoyed this and find my 100+ hrs worth it. (steam shows less because it did'nt record when I was playing offline). And I find the replayability to be high especially if theres some new major updates.

TL;DR This game is 7/10 for me.

This is so worth it, bought it at full price. I've accumulated 150+ hrs but will still happily play to continue my farm until the 3rd year ends. And I'm still interested in starting over to try out different things like different kind of farm to fishing, different gender and try lesbian route, and others!

Guys from RUST who is looking to play another crafting/open world game. This is a no no. Especially from South-East Asian countries, NO. There are no dedicated servers to SEA, lowest ping I've got is 172 (playable for PVE).

*This is more PVE based game. PVP/PK players or called Renegades here are marked red on their names above the head. You can also check players online and it shows wether you are a renegade or not.
*You can break-in easily using the tools you crafted from just the loots you gathered within an hour. Atleast I did on a stone looking and another wooden big base. BUT, let me say it again BUT you can't take the stuffs inside the storage box atleast 12hrs or 24hrs maybe more after you destroyed a Cupboard thingy furniture.
*Trees fall and the trunk stays for a while being obvious that it was farmed. That's good.
*Abundant of food. I literally just ignore foods or drop them. It also drops seeds and it grows instantly in one night in-game I think.
*Animals don't chase after you like mad from far away. I killed elephants with a bow maybe 5 square foundation away from it.
*This is no modern world. There are no helicopters, no turrets, no guns. You however can craft rafts to travel the seas to hop on another island or explore an abandoned ship(?), craft ballista a big harpoon you have to manned to defend your base, craft a siege or catapult to break down walls of your enemies, or craft a glider for you to soar the sky and throw stones to their roof which are easy to craft.
*Building bases is like RUST, it has square/triangle foundation and whatnots. But it needs more improvements. You can't easily lay it down and you can't freely choose how the square/triangle foundation faces.
*Lastly I hate the cave I went into to mine ore twice. The cave is narrow, very deep and total darkness. You need a torch on your left hand and a pickaxe on your right. Your vision is limited because of the dark, the ores you have to mine are too realistic that they blend perfectly to the environment. While you have an ability like sonar to detect items you can interact on a 4square foundation radius with 2s(?) cooldown. It still gave me a hard migraine (I don't know if it's just me since I generally get headaches when playing first person and you move too much on super dark environments. but this game was the worst migraine I've got).

This is my comparison review with only 6hrs of gameplay. Hope it helps.
