This game is amazing. It has a hardcore feel without being that difficult. It is easy to cheese it, but that can make for a different kind of fun too. If you enjoy ARPGS this is a must have.

I used to play other games , Rust, OverSquanch, H1Z1, and several others. Then I got factorio. factorio is spice. spice is life.

EDIT: new UI sucks , never playing again.

First off, putting this out free is a big FU(|< you to the people who purchased it. Second off, that is all.

the update added bugs that make it hard to interact sometimes. have not found any others yet. Good game overall from a singleplayer standpoint.

I obtained a key for review purpose. It in no way influences the outcome of my reviews. I would like to thank Steamified for the game key!

Drift into Eternity is a single player survival game set on a crashed space ship on a hostile planet. The hostile planet is only envisioned in the minds eye, however, and the entirety of the game is aboard this downed space craft.

The menu system looks nice and operates well. The graphics are simple, but smooth. However in all honesty the game feels very hollow.

There is virtually nothing to do save wander the vessel looking for holes to patch or fires to put out or find food in a storage container. You will get debuffs at random which are pop-ups that say things like "you have a new disease" with no other information about when ails you. Just roaming around with no debris in the way you will break your knee or ankle. With no apparent cause. Fires will often appear "in" the walls so you will NEVER be able to put them out. There was a patch during my review period which offered no noticeable improvements in game play. Although the options menu at the start was selectable after the patch where it was not prior.

I know this game is in early access, but the lack of content screams tech demo. And this is coming from someone who has backed many EA games. Until this product can offer more content of some kind, I would stay clear for now. There is a lot of potential here, but that seems to be a common thread among failed games.

Unless you are hardcore into the idea of this game, I would wait to back this game.

Dear The Forest,

I bought this game once, that said they would give me the moon and more. I checked the dev roadmap weekly, I played all the latest builds. Then one day they told me they were leaving, that it wasnt me, and it was all them. I weeped, poured my soul upon my pillow nightly. Then, The Forest, I met you.. you had me at regular updates and communication. Kept me with an awesome survival game that has only gotten better with time. Like a fine wine, whiskey or congniac. Your soft supple lips caress... wait I got side tracked by the booze

:DISCLOSURE: I received a copy for the purpose of review. That in NO way affects the outcome of this review. If a game is crap IMO I will say so. Thank you Steamified.

Risk of Rain is an intense rogue like. The game play is fantastic classic 8/16 bit platformer action. You have four abilities to aid you in the journey of survival. Twelve different characters you can play. Three game modes that scale well, the easiest of which does not allow the saving of progress. Combine all this with TONS of items that offer passive and on use advantages. The item combos can get crazy, like in The Binding of Issac. AND if you get more than one of an item it will stack.

This game is great if you have only 15min to play or 5 hours to play. Easy to pick up and get the hang of, but difficult to master no doubt. If you are new to rogue like games this is a great intro to the genre. Overall I would rate this game 8/10. It is a must play for any rogue like fan.
