Failure: The Game.

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a game that will chew you up, gurgle you a bit, and spit you back out as a frustrated mess. That does not mean it's a bad game, however. This is the good type of frustration, the kind that forces you to try again, and again, and again until you can surpass previously insurmountable challenges with ease. All of the progress you've made in an hour's time can be reset instantly if you're not careful enough, but that shouldn't stop you. Getting Over It is a game about getting over that failure; that sense of defeat and no-can-do attitude. Every mistake you make, every little bit of progress that you lose is nobody's fault but your own.

This is one of the few games where I have nobody to blame but myself for my mistakes. There is no death system in place to save your progress and there is no progress saving at all except for when you quit the game. And yet, I still feel like I'm making progress when I fall from the top and hit the very bottom again. I have made many mistakes while playing this game, but none of them made me even think about quitting. This game was made for those people who like to quit out of frustration, or think completion of a game is guaranteed because they spent money on it. This game is physically painful to those people who quit at the slightest sign of their progress being reset, because it does not hold your hand. This game will drop you, kick you around, and leave you feeling like you want to give up; all while the narrator is giving you words of encouragement to keep going and not give up. If you hit 'quit' every time you fall, then you will never finish the game. This is a game about exponential progression, but sometimes your progress will halt when you get stuck on an obstacle and fall back down.

There is also some philosophical drivel in the background accompanied every now and then by elevator music or some old-timey music.

Overall, I recommend Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy for those who want a challenge, but not one where you're fighting a huge, epic boss battle with lasers and swords or something like that. This game's challenge is much more simple: climb to the top of a big mountain with a hammer and a pot; but it is a fun journey all the same.

I have played a lot of games. There are many good games I've played and enjoyed, and there are almost as many bad I've played and hated. This is one of those good games that I just can't believe I missed out on until now. The Wolf Among Us is an amazing, gritty fantasy tale that takes us through a murder mystery tale played out before us. It never gives us more information than we need to have to start putting the clues together on our own, and Bigby is a likeable and relatable protagonist that rarely, if ever, picks up the idiot ball. All of the plot points make sense, and were meshed together beautifully to create a beautiful story. Buy this now; it is well worth whatever price it is at when you're reading this, simply for the story.

Beautiful, fast-paced; no breaks action. Kind of a trip when it brings you through tears but not too much ridiculousness. The Lutece twins are hilarious.

Great game, loved every second of it; still playing it even after I beat it.
