When you thought it wasn't possible to ruin one of the best videogames of all time, someone managed to do so.

Terrible port which gives you almost no PC setting options, crashes every 2 minutes, glitchy textures.

Just do yourself a favor and play the original.

I so happy...

This was my reaction to when I knew there was a HD port of this masterpiece coming to Steam.

There isn't enough words in my vocabulary to describe how much this game means to me, and how absolutely mesmerizing it is, but I'll try my best.
Being a long time fan of Final Fantasy games since my early youth, I've played and beaten most of the games in the series through these 25 years of my life, and us fans can agree that every game in the series (even those that we personally don't like) have their special quality, be it a small detail, a character, a scenary or even a song...

I can say that, IX is not only my favorite FF game, it's my all time favorite videogame because it is everything you'd expect from a quality videogame. It's art, and you can see there is heart put into every little detail of this game, the characters feel alive, you feel the emotions and relate to them in what they say and do, as the metaphorical content of each setting is purely fascinating and thought-provoking.

The gameplay is rich, with some of the best elements you've seen in JRPG's, being easy to learn and at the same time complex to master. The locations are sublime giving you a awe inspiring sense of scale, detail and importance in every spot you visit, despite the "aging" of it's graphics. The story is intriguing and gets progressively interesting being even at some points macabre, making you feel for every single character/creature involved in it. To top it all the soundtrack (to which I have listened for years even after playing this) is just terrific and breathtaking from start to finish.

It conjugates, everything that a Final Fantasy game represents, where despite being amidst a world of fantasy and fiction you can actually relate to something around you and take values and teachings that will accompany through your life, like for example the values of friendship, adult-related themes like betrayal and death, a search to what we represent as an individual in our lives and to what purpose have we've been given life for.

Regarding this port, I think the updates on it are quite welcome, like the enhancing of the graphics and the refreshing of the menus/sound effects. I think it's what we fans of this game always wanted, a little touch to the game without removing what made it so special, because it is already perfect.

To summarize, if you're looking for a great old-school JRPG experience with turn based combat, an interesting story or a relaxing trip with a soundtrack, don't think twice and get this game. I would say it's also an interesting start to people who never got into Final Fantasy games.

Thank you Square for having influenced generations with this wonderful masterpiece, and for giving me the opportunity to dream inside of it, once again in my life.

1994... Hard to believe a game with this age has more depth and virtues than most games out there in our current times, perhaps harder to believe to someone who never played this before.

Final Fantasy VI is a true fantasy, something you take into your heart and into your mind, something far more than just a videogame, it's pure art and a lesson in life. Everything on this game from the writing to the characters, to the soundtrack, to the gameplay is no shorter than fantastic.
I could be here naming an entire day of what makes this "experience" so brilliant, but that would just spoil to those who never played it before, and as for that, I wish I could have the opportunity to play this game for the first time again in my life, but still, doing it again nowadays it still brings me a ménage of feelings that go from sadness to joy.

About this remake, I'm glad that the soundtrack wasn't changed as it was my main concern to when I was about to play it, and unlike the views of some people that keep calling this a bad port, I actually find this the ultimate version of this game. I experienced no crashes whatsoever, no fps drops, no glitches, no nothing. And the refreshing on some of the character sprites/scenarios are actually cool. I think people were expecting this to have a full blown 3D remake, and not some short improvements.

Why would you mess around so much, with an already perfect game?

For any fan of art, and for everyone who never played this before, go play this now.

They just don't make em' like Deus Ex anymore, one of the best games of all time, a brilliant cyberpunk sci-fi stealth action experience that relies quite a lot on one of the most complex and eerie stories ever written, that at most points actually make you think about the actual world you're living in.

For any fan of Science Fiction, Cyberpunk themed stories and Conspiracy Theories, this is a must play and I'm sure that those with a biggest brain and heart will not care about the visual qualities of the game (that have not aged well but that can actually be a bit enhanced with mods and the latest HD patch).

Great and Challenging Rogue-Like game, it's better than the original in any way. More items and wider variety of enemies and items so if you liked the original grab this right now.

The game consists on following a character through maze-like structures in a variety of environments, with randomized enemies and items that give you power ups (or diminish them), which helps giving the sensation of a unique run everytime you try and play it. It's quite addicting too, so you'll be playing it over and over again to uncover new items, locations and collectibles. There are also multiple playable characters, which change your challenge and the way you play the game.

Seeing one of my all time favorite games getting love like this, is like a dream come true. Still as fantastic and appealing as it always was for me with our without this revision, but I won't lie that it looks and plays MUCH better than it used to.

Might be a good occasion for those that never played it to finally give a try, to one of the best videogames of all time.

As a fan all I could think of when I started playing it was:

How does Valve butcher this game constantly with newer updates catered for incel streamers and not notice this in so many years goes beyond me.

Portal 2 is like a flower you water everyday, and each day that passes you look at it amazed and wonder just how much will it grow on you.

Besides a brilliant solo campaign, packed with superb voice acting, challenging riddles that englobe a unique gameplay, a interesting story and a overall lengthy ride, it also boasts one of the most well thought/executed multiplayer co'op moments in videogame history, that invite you to create and overcome challenges.

It's made me find love, friendship, care, patience, hope and persistance. Perfect game to play with someone you enjoy in your life, be it a friend or a lover and to reinforce that relationship.

To summarize, it's a fantastic game, and I would recommend it to any creature that shows interest in playing videogames.
