It's fun but be prepared to quicksave (a lot)
Hopefully future patches improve the stability, it's been getting steadily worse and at the moment it seems to be randomly crashing whenever it notices I haven't saved in a while.

Jump from one planet to another - crash
Open a door to a new area - crash
Run across a planet - crash
Open the inventory - crash
Change weapon - crash
Talk to an NPC - crash

My system shouldn't be a problem as I have a 4090, an i9 13900K and 32GB ram
So far I've updated my drivers, disabled absolutely everything in the background, tried different resolutions, graphics settings and forced refresh rates, reinstalled the game, and nothing has helped.

Other things that are annoying: Companions won't shut the f"ck up about you being overloaded.
They're also about as dumb as your average red hat wearer.
Oh you're trying to look in these lockers or you're sniping? Let me stand right in front of you. That's helpful right?
Oh you've just cleared some mines by shooting them? I think I'll walk straight through the fireball and then complain about it.
Oh you're crouching on the edge of a cliff to do some sniping? I'll walk up behind you and push you off. Then complain when I follow you and get hurt.
Oh you've crawled into a narrow space to look around or pick something up? I'll follow about an inch behind so that when you turn around you have to shove me out of the way to get out.
If they weren't a useful distraction for enemies or a pack horse that lets me fast travel when I get overloaded, I'd definitely pick the introvert trait and work solo.

While using the scanner to find stuff, it lets you open some stuff but not others, and lets you pick up some stuff but not others. No idea why but get used to turning the scanner off an on again to get anything done.
Could do with a recycling system like in Cyberpunk.
Some variety in visit-able structures on planets would be nice as well. It's getting to the stage where I can predict which items are going to be in the rooms and lockers before I open them.

In typical Bethesda style there are a lot of broken quests.
I had a mission to survey a planet, found everything bar one animal, and spent over an hour jumping between biomes. Assumed it was a fish or a bird but there was nothing in the sky and no seas on the planet.
After checking the forums it turns out it was a fish, and there were very small puddles on the surface, but they weren't considered deep enough for the fish to spawn.
So I had to call in 8 of the fish to complete the mission.
This of course is considered cheating and switched off the achievements. So I had to mod the game to hide that I'd modded the game because Bethesda f*cked up. Classic.

There's probably some more stuff that annoys me, but I've calmed down now after the latest crash that lost me 45 mins of surveying >:(

Update 21 Nov 23
After the DLSS update the crashing is way better, I've only had one or two.
I also dropped to 1440p from 4K so that may have had more to do with it.
Shouldn't really need to do that with a 4090 but there you go

Decided I wanted to do some proper space trucking, so I sold my upgraded Asp and bought a Type-7 Transporter.
Had enough for a few upgrades and a full hold of goodies.
I picked a nice single jump run in a busy, well policed area, but as soon as I dropped out of warp by the star I was interdicted by two expert Vultures.
I decided to submit to avoid overheating my FSD and dropped into normal space.
My shields lasted 5 seconds and my hull even less.
Nooooooooo!!!!
Ok, calm down, time to rebuy the ship.
Not enough funds to buy the ship.
Ok, just have to use a loan, it sucks but it's better than nothing.
Maximum loan amount 1,000,000
Cost of buying back the ship 1,197,000
Cost of buying back the ship with no upgrades 1,095,000
You'll have to declare bankrupcy and start again in a Sidewinder.
Nooooooooo!!
So I get my crappy ship and a few thousand credits and jump straight onto the bulletin board looking for a job.
Take 4 things to somewhere for 150,000. Result! I'll have that thankyouverymuch.
Look it up on the map, tell the computer to plot a route.
No route available.
Ahh must have had it set to fastest route, let's try most economical.
No route available.
Turns out the location would need at least one jump which Crapship 2000 can't manage.
So now I'm stuck with a mission I can't do, if I abandon it the fine is more than I have, and a full hold which stops me taking any more cargo jobs.

11/10 would go bankrupt again!

It's ok I suppose.
I wouldn't spend more than 625 hours on it though.
