10/10. can't wait for the sequel!

This game is an okay souls game with an okay story. could've easily been a 6-7/10. However, there are some serious issues with its optimization.

Despite meeting the minimum specs as specified in the store page, I could not get this game to run without any stuttering or crashing.

While i was troubleshooting i found one guy who explained capping the framerate to 30 fps fixed the crashing for him. it didn't completely fix it for me but it did significantly reduce the time between each crash.

This game has also blue screened my computer twice now and the second time corrupted my save file

Fun action game. story mode got little long towards the end but still fun. merc mode is great

combat's better. better enemy variety. levels and objectives are SIGNIFICANTLY better.

this game does a much better job at balancing lightsabers and guns. it's really funny because i had played JKA before and when i got the lightsaber here i thought it would sideline the guns but then the game instantly threw nar shaddaa at me and then that rifle on my belt looked a lot more tempting. i'd chosen to start my playthrough with lightside powers but when i maxed out lightning toward the end it felt so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glorious, blowing multiple enemies away like they're nothing.

i like desann, tavion. and this characterization of kyle is pretty cool. this story does pick some storybeats from df2 but i don't really mind. Also don't use the EAX sound, either it's not working as intended anymore or i really was supposed to hear stormtroopers from miles away. this is probably fixed in the openJK port anyways

It's good but imo it's not better than the original DF.

I liked the story fine but I did love Jerec and Kyle's acting in this, they're campy but I enjoyed all of it.

Jedi combat is not entirely like Raven's but it's serviceable. I can't really put my finger on why, but the shooting feels worse. It's just floatier, i guess?

There's quite the leap in scale coming off DF1. I was mostly okay with it, but sometimes it felt unnecessarily big. And since they're also more complex the map became hard to read

DF is a fun doom clone. It's not as frenetic as some of the later shooters, but it honestly doesn't need to. I had very little issues with the pace of the game and I liked the atmosphere in the levels.

I played the game without a source port. It plays fine, but I do welcome the many improvements something like the force engine can bring.

It's great but you should probably just wait for the official remaster.
