Just played through this wonderful little gem of a game. I liked it a lot, it remembered me of Little Nightmares, Inside and Limbo which are all great games, Inside even being my favourite game of all time.

DARQ lets you play with dimensions in a very creative way, which really appealed to me. It doesn't have a lot of "puzzle features" that have to be introduced, but the puzzles utilize all the features in a very good way.

The atmosphere in this game is amazing. It's obviously quite dark, the sound design suits this ambience perfectly. It doesn't have a clear story line, so you still have room to think about the game after playing it. Games like this can easily fail to convey their story and start to feel pretentious as a consequence. I'm very happy to say that this game didn't feel that way at all. (I'm always worried about this part in particular)

With all the positives I can give to this game, there are obviously some negatives too, because no game can be perfect. It was a little short in my opinion, with only 7 chapters and a play time of a little over 2 hours for me (and that with me still being stuck at two points in the game and having to restart a whole chapter because I closed the it for a moment) it didn't quite get to the point I wanted it to be. It couldn't satisfy me fully because of that.

The mechanics felt a little bit clunky at some points, for instance if you switch the the wall to the ground it had kind of too much weight in a way if that's understandable, but that's probably just me being nit-picky.

All in all I would give a full recommendation for this game, even with it's little flaws it's still a fantastic game which I will definitely look into at some point later in time, and I really look forward to sharing with my friends.
