Philosophy in it's purest state

An amazing experience that will trigger some questions about life and humanity. The game itself goes over very deep and complex topics using simple text files, stored in computers all over the game world. This game definitely requires a calm explorer, who likes to read (a bit).

Without spoiling anyone, the story is based in the mystery of not knowing what the hell is happening. Every time you get information about who are you, or where you are, a new theory comes across your head. It's like magic.

While the gameplay is simple (which doesn't mean easy) and has only a small amount of mechanics that work together, the graphics, effects and scenarios are excellently crafted and really beautiful. Although, most of that doesn't matter when you have an incredible story. And The Talos Principle has definitely one of those.

It is the first game in which I do not want to play the actual core game (the puzzles), but instead I just want to finish the current level so I can obtain more information, stories and audio clips in each area.

The game suggests in a sublime way the future of artificial intelligence and the infinite possibilities of a virtual universe, while questioning our own universe with elaborate theories, really creepy questions about life, death and consciousness. It even reflects on how humans act in front of a machine depending on the level of consciousness it has, instead of thinking if that machine is alive or not in the first place.

The only issue I could find, is that the story of The Talos Principle raises impossible and unsolvable questions that will encourage players to end as quickly as possible to find the answers they seek. Making the player "rush" an otherwise well engineered puzzle game.

An AMAZING game, with interesting gameplay mechanics, that can become a bit repetitive in the final puzzles.

TL;DR: Good for players that can describe themselves as patient explorers. Fair puzzle game where difficulty depends on how much of a completionist you are. 10/10 story. Re-playable.
