This is a base-building RTS. You build all your weapons pointed menacingly at your enemies, shielded by shield generators, while you build the equivalent of a nuke to smash through whatever defences your opponent has.
While your opponent does the same.

It has a single-player campaign, with a story good enough that you want to follow along. Though it wouldn't win any awards, it doesn't need to.
The gameplay loop is quite entertaining, and the upgrades you unlock from finishing levels are different enough that if you want to min-max, there certainly are ways to.

An interesting thing it does is, after showing off an incredible threat, it gives you a few missions from the perspective of said threat. That has an interesting effect of understanding how dangerous they really are, and why. That leads into having an idea of how to counter the stuff that is going to get thrown at you.

The AI is surprisingly competent at kicking you over the head on the highest difficulty. It is genuinely challenging for most of the time. Once you make an impenetrable wall in the area it attacks fairly often, it will notice that what it is doing isn't working and come from behind to stab you there because you weren't paying attention there. Looking at the map is the greatest superpower you can have here.
Also, it is very fun to watch the enemy build something to attack you with, just for you to snatch it away and use it to either bolster your defence or just sell for a tidy profit.

My favorite time while playing is on a mission where you have to bring your base to a certain point, which also introduces a new threat. A threat I thought was meant to be unbeatable, so I resolved to just run the entire way. Like the idiot I was, I made a moderately difficult level insanely difficult.

10/10, will play some more.

An old but wonderful game

My colonist was so bored that instead of going on and carrying out the eating binge mental break, she just decided to play horseshoes.
This made my day

in my 5 hours it already crashed... twice
there also was unbearable lag for a few hours.
it is a good game but the server issues make it unplayable
