Picked this game up in a sale ages ago and decided to finally get round to playing it. I bought the game on release for console and only got around to playing it on PC now.
One of the best parts of this game is the story. You play as Aiden Pearce, who lives in the city of Chicago, and seeking revenge against those who murdered a family member. The story is dark, and thrilling, and for me was the best part of the game.
Watch Dogs is basically the modern day setting for an Assassin’s Creed game, which personally, is awesome. The elements of stealth, through hacking and silenced weapons, makes completing missions in different ways very possible.

I had a lot of fun playing this game, and the only real issues that I faced were the odd graphical issue, which could easily be fixed through the settings. I also found that the driving mechanics weren’t amazing, but they could be fixed by using a controller.

There is plenty to do around the city of Chicago, whether this is blowing all your money on Texas Hold ‘Em, or doing the many Fixer Contracts or Criminal Convoy sidequests. I personally found that once the main storyline was out of the way, the game essentially became boring with not a huge amount left to really do, because the whole game builds up to the final Act.

Overall, really fun game, highly recommend this to anyone thinking of getting it, the story is great and can be highly moving at times, and I’m looking forward to starting Watch Dogs 2 soon.

Figured that after sinking 100+ hours into this game and completing the Odyssey storyline, hunting down the entire Cult of Kosmos and before starting the DLC, it was time for me to write a review.

As a massive fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise, I was sceptical about this game, as I previously was with Origins. The move away from the default game and moving towards an RPG based game was not what I expected, but I'm glad they did. The storyline is strong, being able to play as both Alexios and Kassandra allows you to make difficult choices that heavily impact the ending(s) of the game.

Your Odyssey

The story places you as being a Misthios of Kephallonia, with the main goal of reuniting his/her family. There are multiple main storylines that you can pursue throughout the game, one being your Odyssey, and the other to hunt all of the Cult of Kosmos members - those who split your family apart.

Pros

  1. Over a good 80 hours of gameplay - including the main storyline along with many sidequests to get distracted by.
  2. Graphics are amazing - Photo Mode allows for some stunning photos to be taken.
  3. Unlike some previous games in the series, game easily runs at 60fps with smooth gameplay.
  4. Naval Battles - one of the many things I loved about Black Flag was being able to engage in smooth naval battles, being able to customise your ship throughout the game, and this game adds to the love of being able to island hop, engage in many naval battles, and just sail the seas to your heart's content.
  5. Being able to call your ship no matter the Dock can be massively useful, if you've been off exploring an island or city.

Cons

  1. One problem, which is the same I faced in Origins, that the wait time after Fast Travelling can take ages, whist either being left on the hint screen, or just the entire screen being blank.
  2. Sometimes, the voice acting can just seem to drag, especially with the side quests where it seems like some characters have been talking for ages. This isn't really a massive problem as it usually explains where certain quest items are which is always a positive.

Season Pass

Considering I never usually purchase a Season Pass, I was surprised when Odyssey's ended up in my basket. I enjoyed this game so much, I didn't want to stop playing.
The Season Pass is going to include two DLC stories, spanning a total of six episodes, as well as including remastered editions of both Assassin's Creed III and Liberation, so for the price tag, is definitely worth it.

Overall, highly recommend this game to anyone who is either a fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise, or anyone interested in a good RPG.

Had this game in my Library for ages and never got round to playing it.
Wish I'd played this game sooner, came as a massive surprise but the graphics and the gameplay are stunning. This game has many hours of gameplay, depending on your playstyle, but even if you rush through the game it's going to take you a good 20 hours.
Highly recommend this game to anyone thinking of buying it, especially in a sale.
