pretty good so far

there are 3 types of lobbies in this game:

lobby 1: "John G.'s Lobby" - nobody talks and the host leaves after 10 minutes

lobby 2: "femboy boykisser pawjob OwO's Lobby" - there's furry ERP and hackers here and the lobby always eventually starts talking about trump

lobby 3: "poopy stinky diarrhea fart foot fungus's Lobby" - these are the coolest people you will ever meet in your entire life

the multiplayer delay is atrocious, its quite literally a 45 minute delay to see what your friends are currently working on

this game turned my brain into mush i highly recommend

my wife divorced me and took the kids but at least i still have fish

The gameplay was fun back in 2013 and is still fun today.
The story is corny edgy but in a silly way.

The first playthrough is the most fun you'll have. There are some interesting unlockable difficulties, like a one-shot-kill mode that is super satisfying. But unfortunately, these additional playthroughs get stale pretty quick, simply because there are cutscenes literally every 5 steps you take. These cutscenes are not immediately skippable, you will always have to wait 2+ seconds to skip them for some reason. There is also a cutscene between nearly every single wave of enemies where you watch Dante turn his head to face the new enemies even if the enemies spawn in front of you.

I also think the weapons are quite unbalanced. The demon weapons just seem objectively better than the angel weapons, so when the game throws a bunch of angel-weapon-only enemies at you it can be a little irritating.

With that said, I still recommend that anyone who likes action games should play through the game at least once. I think that if this game did not make such a drastic design change for Dante and company, it would have been just as beloved as Metal Gear Rising in video game culture.
