I advise starting with vanilla and testing the waters. This is a pretty intense game that requires alot of time and luck. always prioritize your food and clothing. you dont wanna get too cold or too hungry. looting is always fun esp in a game where YOU NEED TO LOOT TO ADVANCE. Yet it's very easy to lose track and just keep looting. over time you will learn whats valuable. I have yet to get into base building but I look forward to it. modded server's will make your life on day z 100x easier but this depends on the type of modded server you're playing. It's all personal preference from what I have gathered while spending hours apon hours hunting down the (perfect server) and as with rust it hasn't happened yet. maybe one. anywho done ranting enjoi game. only buy it if you are willing to grind hard and invest time and brain power into it.

Im gonna make this short.. This game is amazing in every way imaginable. Unless you have a bad computer.. I have played this game for years. went from 60fps to 30-20 from new changes being added to the game. Built my pc up then started getting 70-80. But now it is to the point where I cant even play 1 person barren servers without being kicked off because my pc cant handle it. It breaks my heart. so before you decide on purchasing this game make sure you have a really freaking good pc or else you'll just be wasting your time..
