As a die-hard of the first, HELLDIVERS 2 has exceeded every hope and expectation I had for a sequel. There’s so much thought and care put into recreating what was great about the first, mechanically, functionally, and artistically. I'm beyond excited for the future of the game, and seeing the level of communication and support post-launch has been very reassuring.

That being said, there has been a fair bit of matchmaking, server capacity, and connectivity issues. Some days are better than others, and the same goes for some of the patches/hot-fixes. Despite that, the game (when it's working consistently) is fantastic. I'm sure they'll get a handle on these issues soon, and server/connectivity issues aside, I still think I've had more fun this week than I have in a long time. As of now (4.8.24), a lot of the matchmaking issues have been resolved. Specifically the server capacity ones, those are non-existent at this point.

Love the idea of a more fleshed out and complex galactic war, and seeing the community rally together for one, specific goal never gets old. Can't wait to see how it develops, and what's to come as the war rages on.

As most PvE games, playing with friends is ideal, but quickplay or hosting an open party are great ways to get a full squad. Even in some of the higher difficulty missions, you can still manage just fine with randoms.

Arrowhead has done it again, highly recommended.

4.08.24 - Still gas

>>Months after release, Sony/Playstation has now announced that linking a PSN account will be mandatory in the near future. People who have already bought and played the game for hundreds of hours will (as of now), no longer be able to play, as PSN is not supported in their country...and because of their playtime/time since purchase, these players are ineligible for a refund.

After a huge cooperative effort by the community, Playstation has rescinded this requirement
