ActiBlizz followed up the genre defining OW1 with this half-baked "sequel", which in reality amounts to a pathetic excuse to remonetize the whole thing. Don't waste your time, there are far better games out there, f2p or otherwise.

I expected basically nothing going in and yet this was one of my GOTYs, definitely give it a chance!

This is without a doubt the best modern metroidvania I've ever played, tempted to say the best ever but I'll leave this particular call until after the dust settles.
Simple but well executed Soulsborne-ish storytelling/lore, gorgeous art, meaty sound design, tight controls and a great world to navigate. Soundtrack is also stellar. If I must point out one flaw is that the player position indicator really shouldn't have to take up a charm notch.

A very touching kinetic novel (meaning there are no choices to be made), with great art, some absolutely gorgeous and emotional music tracks and a powerful climax. Suffice to say I've considerably inflated my in-game hours just by listening to some of its poignant tunes on repeat (roughly 1/3 of my playtime was spent on them at the time of my writing this), and that's a first for me.
It's short lived, granted, lasting 3 hours or so depending on how fast you read, but that takes nothing away from the tale. In fact, I feel it went on for the perfect length for me to sucesfully connect to the characters yet leave the world cloaked in bleakness, solitude and mistery, which ultimately adds to the game's narrative and overall feel. Oh, and definitely expect tears to be shed or at the very least choked up at some point. More than worth it at normal price, a no brainer at a sale.
tl;dr: Short but sweet kinetic VN with a stellar soundtrack and some real feels to be had.

I admittedly don't have that much experience with the bullet-hell genre, but from what I've seen and played I'd say this game is a true gem. Even though its asking price is quite modest and it's a bit on the short side this is a very much complete game with a pumping soundtrack full of hype that goes perfectly with the gameplay. There are some different modes to change things up. All in all it's well worth it, if you ask me.
