It's a good game. Tight gameplay, nice art style and soundtrack, good voice acting and writing.

My problem with the game is that the level variety, enemy variety, and boss variety are just not there at all. Not by a long shot. With the amount of runs you need to do to unlock everything, the game gets pretty old pretty fast. I do like the weapon and item variety though. Boon variety is alright.
I'm hoping the sequel can improve on the content and make each run more dynamic compared to the last.

Also, the game was a bit easy in my opinion. I know it has a built in difficulty slider, which I did use, but the bounty system encourages a very slow and gradual increase in the difficulty slider. Doing that, I was beating the final boss nearly every single time. Out of 57 runs, I escaped 33 times. With the majority of the fails being either in the beginning before unlocking weapons and items, or at the final boss. After that, I started failing runs on purpose to speed up the process of unlocking content.
I'm conflicted on the process of unlocking stuff. It's random. In some ways I like it, but it does require a grind if you're going for a specific thing, and that's not fun.

I found myself constantly comparing it to Binding of Isaac. Which I've only played the original and early versions of Rebirth. But Isaac usually came out on top in my mind.

Anyway, it is still a fun game. Great game.

I was skeptical at first. Never played a cRPG before (didn't even know what that was).
And I'm not usually a fan of games with control schemes where you point and click to make your character move.
Additionally, I like turn based tactical games on a grid system, like Fire Emblem. But the only other turn based / real time strategy game I've played was Valkyria Chronicles. I did not like that battle system at all, didn't get very far.

So I really wasn't expecting much here, I bought it on whim, everyone's talking about it.
And I was pleasantly surprised. The combat is fun, engaging, and dynamic. You really can tackle each encounter however you want, with so many choices of strategy. And even then, with the vast amount of customization, I don't think any 2 encounters will be alike.
The character creation options seem endless, and so do all the dialogue options, that have very real impact on the entire game. This is the absolute best use of dialogue options I've ever seen in a game. Not only that, but voice acting is top notch, and the writing is really good too. Pretty funny at times.
I think every playthrough will be wholly unique. There's like 10 to the 40th power number of chess moves, and I bet there's a larger number of possible Baldur's Gate 3 playthroughs.
I normally don't like so many options, it's overwhelming, and I generally prefer simpler games. I was honestly overwhelmed with the UI and everything in this game at first, but it really grew on me.
Lots of secrets to discover, stuff to explore, people to talk to, quirky interactions between spells and abilities. Big game.
As well, I enjoy the soundtrack, and the game looks nice too.

I currently have over 30 hours in my single player save file. Still in Act 1. So my thoughts might change when I finish the story, but I doubt it. This is easily becoming a top 10 game of mine.

EDIT: I'm now in Act 2 on a second playthrough. Still love this game. Some people felt Act 3 was a bit of a let down, and I can see that, but I still had a good time. This game even got me interested in tabletop DnD, which so far has turned out to also be very enjoyable.

Gotta give it points for realism though. It's a known fact that in Japan, every guy walks in on a half-naked girl at least once every other day.

- my character is fluent in Japanese but doesn't know what a konbini is. Makes sense.

Rather than putting stupid ♥♥♥♥ in here for the holiday objective, I actually legitimately recommend this game. I wouldn't say it's worth the $10 standard price, but if it's on sale, deffinitely pick it up. Cause it's like, fun, and disturbing, and other cool adjectives.
