Early Access Review
Played 2 hours of this game with a group of 4 friends. The tutorial seemed a bit long but it showed you most features. We found out there was an option to skip the tutorial for our last friend. We sat in the lobby for a moment arm wrestling fools that came around. When we got into our first game, we were very confused on what to do. We had some good laughs for that run but most of the time we were confused what to do. After that first run we sat in the lobby and played chess with each other then got into the second game. This second game made us dread this game. It was just constant push cart and do task while being chased by enemies. Those enemies are scattered around the map and camp the objectives that you need to do. These objectives are also not quick time events. They make you sit there for a few seconds holding down a button or pressing a button multiple times. If an enemy hits you while doing an objective you have to go back to and click that objective again. There were many times were if a player was in front of the cart it would stop moving. At the very end of that second game one of the players got downed in the gears and we couldn't push the cart into the final spot. We all got killed and failed the level. If you are looking for a good time this game isn't it. It is super repetitive and constant pain. The most fun we had was in the lobby playing arm wrestling and chess.

Ghostrunner 2 is definitely a well deserved sequel. You can tell the development team put a lot of care into designing the feature's. There isn't a big gap between the tools and abilities that you learned from the first game put into this game. Most of the abilities you learned from the first game are unlocked in the first level. This help paved the way to have "Jack" learn more abilities throughout the game. If you are looking for a story driven, SUPER HOT, runner type game this would be a definite buy. It is even a plus that the game isn't priced at 59.99 or even 69.99 as most games are nowadays.

There are some negative's that do need to be talked about but they may be ironed out over the games lifetime. At the moment of me writing this review, I have 100%'ed the story and achievements. There were some things that I experienced over the course of the game that weren't joyful. When you unlock the motorcycle parts of the game, I would occasionally hit random bumps on the road where there was nothing at instantly explode. Other times my motorcycle would spawn in weird positions if it had to be respawned. On the later levels, I experienced a lot of frame rate drops to the point that it made the game unplayable unless I somehow made it passed a certain area or restarted the game. My setup currently is running a 4080 so frame rates below 10 aren't expected. Especially that the next feature, RTX, seems to be missing from the game. It seems that Ray Tracing was removed from the release of the game because it was buggy and would cause people to crash. Finally, the Wing suit was a cool addition to the final stages of the game but it seems like the map wasn't properly finished or created for those levels. I was able to go around many corners accidently skipping the main path and skipping ahead in the story in certain areas.

Overall, this game is definitely a must buy. The Indie developers have done it extremely well and are always taking feedback from their community to make it better. Ghostrunner 2 also is much easier compared to the first game if anyone stayed away from the games because it was too difficult. The base game takes a little longer than the base game of Ghostrunner 1 + its DLC. I am really looking forward to see what the future holds for Ghostunner 2 and possibly a Ghostunner 3 coming down the line.

After completing the game and getting 100% worth of the achievements, I thought to write a review. While playing the game the graphics were truly incredible. It was nice to see Hogwarts castle and be able to run around in it. There were a couple changes done to the castle for the game such as the Greenhouse's got reworked and there wasn't a long stone bridge that led to the castle. The areas they were able to include puzzles at within the castle felt well placed. The side quests had you coming back to multiple areas in the castle and introduced new features through them which was a nice touch. It was cool that you were able to fly around on the broom around the outside regions of the castle.

For the Greater Hogwarts region, Hogsmeade felt like it deserved to be able to fly through with the broom. You would just experience this giant barrier every time you flew towards that direction. If you wanted to go to a place on the other side of it, you would have to get off the broom, fast travel to a point, or go around the Hogsmeade area with the broom. Other than that, I didn't have too much of an opinion about the region.

I felt like they did a good job at incorporating the infamous enemies (mini bosses) across the map. As for the regular enemies that spawn everywhere. The trolls were definitely built to be tanks. I had a big problem in trying to kill them quickly everywhere I went until I upgraded my Offensive strength score in equipment. One problem I did have with the infamous enemies was that after a while, I was able to just one shot them with the Ancient Power.

There was definitely a lot of content through the side quests reaching around (60+) quests you can do across the region. Each House at Hogwarts has their own unique side quest before you reach one of the critical story missions. My personal favorite was the Hufflepuff quest line since it took you to Azkaban. After you finish the unique quest, it is the only one that will appear to be unique throughout the entire game. I wish they had more quests that were unique to each House. The relationship quest lines don't provide much besides more side quests and items. Depending on which House you chose at Hogwarts, you would get a different common room and these would be at different places in the castle.

I think the future of the game is strong if they add DLC's to it. There is a lot of hope that the DLC's will be well polished since the base game was extremely well polished compared to other game releases we have received in the past few years. If they decide to create a second game, it definitely will be hard to make it unique compared to this one since they will have to rebuild up the known spells and traverse Hogwarts Castle yet again. I definitely hope to see some type of Quidditch component from them in the future.

Overall my experience with the game was quite enjoyable and definitely would come back to it if they added more content to it.

This game does well to put a fun spin on the games like Getting Over it Bennett Foddy, Jump King, Pogostuck: Rage With Your Friends. It is skillfully designed to make sure that every area in the game requires the knowledge of how the character does with movement. Every section of the first map has perfectly placed jumps and swings to guide you to the next block with precision. One minute you may think you are doing extremely well and the next moment you are at the bottom of the area or even at the bottom of the map yet again. Why hate spiders when you can learn how to become a spider that is able to sling the top. The game has a multiplayer aspect where you can watch your friends struggle through the regions or show them how to get up. You can also customize your character with tokens you earn by just playing the game. This game has potential to be developed more in the future to have more levels to it than just the initial map. The first map that has been released with it can take a hour or so for ones that excel at it even with taking shortcuts that you learn throughout playing. Don't forget to support the indie game developers, they can lead to great games.

At the time of writing this, I have only made it to the Ice section before falling down to the very bottom to have to redo it all.
