I've only been playing this with one other friend. We've tried about 10 rounds so far and the balance and pacing feels way off when you consider how the game presents itself.

For a game that presents with such an epic scope, the missions are disappointingly snacky.

Amazing looking game for sure. But we were expecting something slower with more exploration. So far each round is about 3 minutes of complete chaos, with bots melting us from every direction before we get totally minced, lose all our stuff and have to start again.

The other half of the round is spent looking at the floor towards a sea of [press 'e' to loot] dialogues while we wait to see what flavour chips we picked up for our troubles.

I have a real issue with games that can't figure out how to make looting funner than going outside and physically picking up trash in my neighbourhood.

Maybe we're playing it wrong, but the tutorial is pretty thin so how would we know.

As of right now, I would not recommend this game.

PS: It also bugs me that for a game that has such a cool art style, it has such a crummy logo

This game feels like reading a thesaurus on the toilet for 30+ hours.

I felt super betrayed by all the 10/10 reviews. This game isn't for everyone and I'm convinced all those reviewers were just pretending to have a bachelor of political science so they could act like they know what's happening in this game.

BEWARE! Changing the in-game 'advanced' graphics settings will not change anything and that's kinda the point. Read on...

A lot of other reviewers seem to have missed the option where you have to hit ALT+X to enable the RTX tweaking settings and most importantly, turn on DLSS which is doing ALL the heavy lifting. Unless you have a 40 series card you won't get playable frame rates. You need to update your GPU drivers too.

I'm playing on a 3080 and none of my other specs are particularly noteworthy, but with DLSS enabled it's running buttery smoooooth. B-)

Captures that feeling of living in the Half-Life universe with a detailed realism that you simply have to see to believe.

I'm digging this update! Yeah there are few new things that people seem to be freaking out over, and some changes here and there but it still feels like a recent Wolfenstein game and I simply cannot get enough. Weapon and character upgrades are nice addition (even though I'm not usually fussed by that stuff, it seems like needless faff most of the time). I'm having a blast playing this game, and I can't wait to try it with a pal.

This game is good, but if this game had the same silky smooth and ultra responsive bow feel of QuiVr, this game would be unstoppable. Currently, stringing the bow feels a little buggy and occasionally it doesn't register, especially when under fire. Other than that, good concept and the proceduarl level building is rad, with enemies that feel really engaging, and feels good to duck, dodge and shield from attacks.

This game breaks so many rules of good VR game design. I have an iron stomach most of the time, but this game made me feel really, really sick.

Also, the fact that i have to point and click a lever in order to pull it in the game, other than say, er, just reaching out and pulling it with my hand, is a huge red flag that this game was ported to VR (Vive) as an afterthought. That, or the devs just don't have a clue what they're doing. The controls are. just. bad. No blink option? No comfort mode. Either way, the defaults make having vive controllers about as useful as a gamepad with a built in laser pointer.

I'll give it props for nice graphics (once you remember that anti-aliasing renders everything horribly fuzzy on a VR headset and subsequently turn it off) and pretty decent sound design.

Generally the concept is quite unique and the surreal elements were the only thing that made me want to push on despite needing to vomit and rolling my eyes at the 'puzzles' which I think would have been better traded in for some relevant gameplay and thoughtful controls. You want to make me feel immersed? Ditch the silly 'memory game' puzzle and let me pilot the ship rather than simply cutting to the next scene of this walking simulator.

The ability to shrink and grow large is quite clever, but somehow managed to steer clear of doing anything useful or gratifying with it. That's why the whole thing feels kind of unfinished, like standing inside a big beautiful animated painting and not much more.

This is bascially a 1930's funfair shooting gallery with a prettier skin over it.

Let's face it, Space Pirate Trainer is much more engaging and inventive game and we've all been desperately waiting for something to supersede SPT or Raw Data as the next great shooter for Vive. Sadly, this is not it.

Dear Valve, will you pleeeeaaase help me get this working? I managed to play it once but every time after that, it just freezes on the loading screen and won't start in VR. Windows 10, GTX 1070. I loved using this the first time but haven't been able to get it working since July, even with updates, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating drivers etc. I'm at a loss as what to try next.

Currently playing this game on a vive and enjoying it, despite some silly decisions by the developers.

For potential buyers, I would recommend this game - I got it during a sale, so I was happy to find that I got pretty into this game once I started playing. It's cute, but also pretty spooky and well thought out, story-wise.

For the developers, I'd like to point out a couple of things you missed that would seem like no-brainers for a regular vive users.
First of all, the trigger is the closest thing you'll get to a left mouse click. Why you chose the trackpad as the main selector button is baffling and frustrating.
Secondly, I loved the effect of looking at myself in the mirror, but being able to see my headless avatar float beside my body in first person really breaks immersion.
Thirdly, the locomotion mechanic, while different i guess, isn't really intuitive and the walking speed is begrudgingly slow. By labouring any traversal, you also increase the likelihood of motion sickness.

TL;DR Good game, lousy controls, but doesn't matter heaps seeing as the game doesn't rely on them too heavily to be interesting.
