The result of very little effort being put into a game.

Watch a streamer play this instead, you'll get more enjoyment. Trust this from the guy who's completed every challenge in the game.

Edit: Feed me your jester awards. Each one fuels me with the power of a dying star

This game wasn't fun and doesn't treat many of the darker topics with the respect they deserve. A suicide scene as shock humor isn't funny. It's distasteful.

Fran Bow treated the topics within with a level of gravity that Little Miss Fortune does not.

Also at least Fran Bow had puzzles. This had about zero interactivity.

The writing is also bad and the jokes clash hard with the tone. Potty humor doesn't mix well with a guy hanging himself and the twist ending was underwhelming.

Cute looking game but short and poorly designed.
Squeaks out a recommended because it's so cheap, but only barely.

The art direction is very cute and the voice acting and allusions to the detective genre are very fun.

As a detective game: this is bad. Clues are hard to sort through and find, the solution checker is too ambiguous about what it's asking you to solve and too strict with what words are "correct". This makes for a frustrating experience. The de-duck-tions are extremely linear. I would discover something or make a connection long before the game would let me enter it. There's also usually only a single path to discovering something, which means some clues are a single word in a piece of dialogue, or a barely visible line in a letter somewhere.

I was able to complete the game in its entirety in the time listed above this review. If the design was better or if this was instead chapter one of three then I would feel inclined to give it more praise (and more money). For a longer and better designed experience I would suggest The Case of The Golden Idol or Return of The Obra Dinn.

What can I say? More of an already fantastic game. If you enjoyed the first one you'l enjoy this one too. Here's hoping we get some free (or paid that's fine too) bonus levels.

This is an incredible experience that I've had a blast playing. There's an incredible amount to explore without having you stress about doing anything. The story and mechanics are expertly crafted to the point where I can't imagine there ever being another game that captures the same feeling. I strongly recommend you buy this game and experience it for yourself. Don't look up spoilers, it's one of those games you should experience blind.

This would be great if the creators knew how to implement a damn height calibration tool. Until that happens, I'll be stuck in the floor.

In 7 hours of playtime I completed the game on all three profiles. I got 2 hours of enjoyable gameplay out of it, but my immersion was hindered by the loading screens and a few unnecessary fades to black. I can understand a restrained scope given the expense of VR development, but the amount of content for the price feels really out of proportion.

If you are a longtime fan of the series you may be disappointed by the interactivity and lore. Items you collect cannot be meaningfully interacted with, and a particular location that's hinted in previous games to be a certain astral body ends up not being such. Many formerly impossible objects and visual tricks used in the previous games are also absent, so the effect of the null and the impossible puzzle boxes is reduced greatly. The story doesn't feel like it fits well with the rest of the series, and a few details feel like they outright conflict with what's been set up previously.

Overall, while I like the game, many decisions made (like rotating the player during teleportation) make me think the team is inexperienced with VR and might not have taken as much care with this project as others. I would recommend most other games in this series above this one (including 2).
