Dying Light 2

TL:DR Get the game. Play it with your friends. You'll enjoy it.

Let me start off by saying that I am a Dying Light fan girl, the open world parkour zombie smashing atmosphere that Techland created in the first game had me hooked from the first time I played it. I was young, 13 or 14, and much too terrified to play it. I got as far as I could without having to play at night, then I came back a few years later, and fell in love with it. When I heard the second one was coming out, I added it to my wish-list and kept my eye on the release date.

Lets talk about the world. It's beautiful. It's full of fun parkour lines, small buildings for you to clear out and get loot, zombies for you to kill... And yet, it doesn't feel as full and as "alive" as the much smaller Harran of the first game. Not to say that it is any less, I am having just as much fun playing this one as I did the first.

The NPCs and story. I don't feel nearly as connected this time around as I did in the first game. The story is kind of empty, I don't feel any kind of connection to the characters like I did the first, I cried for characters in the first game, laughed with them, and this time... I skip the dialogue a LOT. It feels a little empty, like they just slapped a story onto the game last second, realizing they were running out of time. I'm about 40 hours in, I can name Lawan and that's it.

Parkour? Amazing. A mechanic I wish more games would implement. Assassin's Creed but first person, and frankly more fun, sibling.

Combat is the same, slash slash bash. It's fun, not exactly challenging.

I would buy it again, it's worth your time, just don't come in looking for a story rich novel that will pull on your heartstrings.

I do not review games often, let alone a genuine review. But this game has my heart.

I have played both of The Last of Us games, and enjoyed them. I was looking for something on PC that could satisfy my desire for more. This game is so much more.

The lack of rewarding looting that I felt from the Last of Us is quelled. The open world exploring that I desired was presented, and presented well. I fell in love with the characters, something I have failed to do while enjoying movies, books, and other video games. When I thought that a main character had (tw) committed suicide I was in tears. I felt the anger and sadness that Deacon did. I don't know what happened, or when exactly I fell in love with Deacon and everyone else, but I did.

The story line is amazing. I got in one slump about half way through the game where I didn't play for a week. Then I fell back in and cranked out 40 hours in two weeks. It's compelling, it's rich, it leaves you wanting to help your campsites and listen to their discussions and figure out what their needs are.

TLDR; If you enjoy games with rich stories, zombies, open world exploring, and lots of looting, this is the game for you.
