I've been a life long golf game fan. From MS-DOS titles, to Mario iterations, to the Tiger Woods series and more modern releases. This seemed like a fun little romp, especially for it's low cost and I wanted to give it a shot (admittedly due to the Game Grumps giving this a recent go.)

Everything about it seems quite nice... the music, the aesthetic, and all that... but my main issue stems from the swing timing of the Power Meter. The three click system has existed since the dawn of time, but never have I played a game with one so demanding of perfection. A millimetre to the left or right of the centre point sends you careening off the fairway - if not out of bounds entirely - with the same punishing curve you'd see in other games as if you simply didn't press a button the third time at all.
The window for error is so maddeningly small (and I really do emphasise it's barely to the left or right of the centre and it hooks/slices like crazy) that it just sucked all the fun out of the game for me immediately. For that, I'm gonna have to thumbs-down the game and will be refunding it.

A perfectly working game with fluid co-op multiplayer? Yeah, of course you deserve an overwhelmingly positive review.

Here's some money for your DLC in fact, you've more than earned it.

Why do you people insist on using it. If you make a good game, people will buy it. Monster Hunter is popular. People will buy it.

Early Access Review
First and foremost, I can say that I do recommend this title. It's got some nice polish to it, and it's themeing is very cute. Obvious comparison is the "Honey, I shrunk the kids" franchise, and it works very nicely.

Yes, it's Early Access, so expect this to be developed slowly over time as is the theme with this Genre of games, but that's also my gripe... it's TOO early access. There's maybe about 25 minutes worth of content in a $40 title. This should have been a free demo in it's current form, if I'm honest.
Am I upset I adopted this early? Maybe a little? If it was sloppier, I would have happily refunded this within Steam's time limit, but I can see the potential, so I guess it will sit in my library over the next year while I keep a side-glanced eye on it's development.

Soooo, yeah. If you want a fleshed out survival base builder? Wait for this one to be further along in it's development and THEN check it out, since it's rocking that $40 price tag. But if you are super interested in following along, then I'd say go for it. This game feels like it's going to be a lot of fun. ...eventually.

In a world where this kinda game is free (albiet in slightly different forms) an $80 title for the same kinda play... I was going to say "isn't worth it" but that's not the case. It's a polished title and the passion is deffinetly there. an $80 title for this kinda gameplay simply doesn't belong in this unfortunately free-to-play genre.
