For the time being, I've retired from gaming. Anyone who has messaged me, Steam auto deletes messages after a set time, so I have no idea, please don't feel I'm being rude, as I value all of your friendships, truly, and will no doubt return one day. I only log in here every so often now, just to have a quick look. Most of you I've shared cool stuff with and you have shared cooler stuff with me, forever enlightening my world in various ways. I will remain grateful to you all for that, forever. Right now, I find the world needs spicing up, so am working on big stuff that occupies all my time. All the best, until I return, first to the key, first to the egg!

I do the daily challenges in Ziggurat and in 2020 got the #1 victory for at least 120 days of that year. I have the high ground :P But honestly, Ziggurat is the perfect FPS and should be used as the template for all who aspire to make an incredible FPS.

Ziggurat

Easily one of, if not the best, FPS rogue-lite dungeon crawler out there. I owned this on Xbox and really enjoyed it, so much so I bought it again on PC.

The ambience and lighting are immaculate. You actually feel like lights are emanating from various sources/objects. Being in the midst of a semi-dark room, while Shaman are spawning carrots and you have light orbs chasing you, it feels fantastic. It honestly might be the best atmosphere/lighting/ambience I've ever seen in a game.

Lots of weapons, characters, perks, amulets, with a decent amount of enemies and bosses, on top of having a Daily Challenge and Endless style modes, Ziggurat really is one of the best games ever made. I wish AAA studios would look at this game and be like, "Yo WTF are we making, look how lit this is, fam! We haven't made something this dope in the last 20 years"

I really hope Milkstone Studios kept the artists/environment designers and use them to make a Ziggurat 2 someday. I'd buy it in a flash. Until then, I'll be playing this daily for thousands of hours to come. 11/10

X-Morph: Defense

Honestly, this was the best game released in 2018. I played it for countless hours on Xbox and got all the achievements soon after the release. A year and a bit on, having moved to PC/Steam, it was one game I literally yearned to have in my library again and not just because it was passionately made on a custom engine that makes everything feel riper than a fruit farm come picking season. I mean that all helped, but it's because of the gameplay.

Whether you're using a mouse and keyboard or a controller, the gameplay is just brilliant. If you want something fun, something as intense or easy as you make it on yourself, something that will make you think and improvise on the fly, with that high octane RTS feel, while embodying splendid shmup and tower defense elements, well man, this is the game for you!

With all the AAA trash released these days, you owe it to yourself to finally put a magnificently crafted game on your screen. So do yourself a favor and at the very least install the Demo. Thank me later. ;-P
