Right now there are terrible performance issues randomly for a varying group of hardware. Most of it inconsistent as to why.

There are solutions such as "Disable cloud saves" as for some reason it'll tank 30-50 fps, "enable vsync" because your GPU is producing too may frames so it is actually limiting to 20-30fps and other odd solutions to 'fix' performance. None worked for me, I get a constant 15-26 fps, even on the menu it won't go above 30. I even set the scaling resolution to 720p and even option to the lowest and won't go over 35fps. The game looked like a worse runescape 3d yet I couldn't get any kind of performance.

I have exceeded their 'recommended' hardware specs, and yet nothing. Note, this doesn't happen to everyone. It seems to be a luck of the draw if you're unlucky enough to never have decent performance in this game, with no fix in sight.

The hour that I did get to play before I needed to refund was fun in multiplayer. But can't talk much as I spent almost my entire time trying to get FPS to not get motion sickness/powerpoint slideslow.

What a blast!

This game creates a new, yet familiar experience for rhythm game players, which is elevated with such a wonderful soundtrack. The 3 bars with monsters (notes) with different patterns is a fun mechanic to add that compliments both rhythm games and throws back to the original Crypt of the Necrodancer.

The story is a fun addition to bring more life and character into the game with appearances from the cast of the original game. Creative mini-games and boss fights.

If you enjoy rhythm games, this is a no brainer. Give the demo a shot (Thank you developers for including a representative demo). It already has steam workshop support, with some creators already starting to churn out music.

I'm going to start out. I really enjoyed the beginning to this game, when everything is fresh, when it's fun watching your ball bounce around, when your build variety is experimentation and it works.

However as the game progresses up the 'cruciball' levels (For those of you familiar with roguelikes, it's the difficulty level you can keep unlocking to make the game harder). The game gets less and less fun. It's not that the game just gets more difficult, but it's more difficult in not a fun way or challenging, just punishing. Build variety disappears, you're no longer enjoying the ball bouncing around, each negative shot can really just end your run there. I got up to cruciball 15, and just did not enjoy the game anymore.

In comparison, Slay the Spire, I'm 20/20/20/13 for the characters ascensions, and it felt fair and challenging. I still enjoy playing them at max accessions and the progression of difficulty. This game however has been a slug and not enjoyable.

Overall. The first 10-15 hours was a delight, and I do feel like I got my value worth (1 hour per $1 spent) but anything longer than that. The joy fades away, and that is why I do not recommend the game if you want to play this for an extended time.

To put simply. For me the game was repetitive and easy. It felt like a slog walking around each floor killing one of maybe 5 variety of enemies. Nothing felt meaningful, or interesting. With the floors/levels being hand crafted, it does allow for some secrets to be created and interest. But honestly, after your first time, possibly even half way through it just felt super long to get anywhere, especially if you missed something.

When you look at the achievements, only 1/3 people bothered to play enough to kill the first boss, half of players killed enough enemies to even get close to the first boss.

I also played in Coop which was a little bit more fun, at least clearing the floors was faster which stayed off the boredom and repetitiveness of each level. It ran fine, with no issues or lag. Which was a great positive.

What you see in the trailer and screenshots is what you get.

I enjoyed this tower defence, rogue lite game. As more cards are unlocked and the understanding of how to upgrade and manage your deck. The game becomes a lot easier. The main issue I have with the game is that at the highest difficulties levels. There are builds that will work sometimes, and builds that just won't work at all. So the balance in the game feels off, however at the easiest difficult allows everything to work and the most fun with experimentation.

Lastly the point shop items are pretty unique and fun compared to a lot of games.

Game scratches the Civ 7 itch.

Honestly though. It has quite a few positives and negatives that create an experience that currently is different on the market.

- The territory system is a creative way to feel the expansion of your nation without needing to load up micromanaging at every expansion.
- UI is clean and representative of the data you need to see right now
- Developing your cities is different enough to stand as it's own unique entry in the 4x genre
- The political system is iffy. Sometimes it's great. Other times it's just downright silly. Especially when a nation you've almost destroyed still think they are superior.
- Animations of units that have queued up actions take forever.
- Notifications can be a PITA.

I recommend purchasing on sale, as it stands on it's own legs for a 4x genre. Recently demo'd Civ 7 showcased their revolutionary ages/leader feature is basically what Humankind has implemented as its framework so that could give you an indication that this game has a lot of potential, just let down with some silly QOL and AI issues.

This game is the redemption arc of any hero. Honestly it's a testament to how well Hello Games have turned the game back around from release. From a game that was lacking substance, to now a game exploding at the seems with features and fun.

No idea of the state of the game these days. You have to remember, this game came out in 2011 and anyone expecting support for a game that got released that time ago and is not a 'live service' game. You're going to have a bad time.

I just wanted to leave a review for this as I heard a song from the soundtrack recently and it made me want to track down the entire soundtrack as it was one of my most enjoyable base soundtracks in any rhythm game.

Love the unique style of story presented with the use of a webcam as the primary way of progressing the game.

It is a short game, so be warned in advance but it is probably one of the best short stories you'll read/watch/play.
