One hour into robbing a bank and I'm all for it!
The powerups seem attainable and progression is not punishing like a lot of other roguelites., almost every run there is something to buy, some piece of story to progress or another new thing to discover.

If you've played Turnip boy commits tax evasion, you'll recognize a lot of the references and appreciate the same jokes and humor. If you haven't I'm pretty sure everything will keep you entertained.

One remark is that the weapon management/"crafting" system with the twins seems a little bit unexplained. After some trial and error I now know that you can bring weapons from a run and give them to Twin 2 to progress a research track to unlock weapons for twin 1, so you can choose your initial load out for the next run.

I have played almost 2000 hrs on Steam alone of this game, but the latest update and negative reviews speak for themselves. The lack of engagement with the community is appalling and the implementation of predatory systems is all but signs on the walls for even worse times to come.

In short
--------
A nice relaxing mystery adventure game with a humorous cattitude that I'd definitely recommend if you're a fan of the genre.

In more detail
---------------
The story:
It is beautifully written so far, with a focus on humor and a lot of background information that makes Cat Town feel alive. The fun characters are not only relevant to the game play but also provide that background information through their relatively deep personality traits that define them.

The art and sound:
I love the pixel-art style, which is very detailed and makes the world feel nice and vibrant, but also provides enough clarity to not clutter the screen in busy locations, like the antique store. Subtle color, size and other differences help you to the answers and items you are looking for. It is mixed with hand-drawn cutscenes and woolball cards, that provide an additional challenge for the completionists among us.

The main music is a relaxing "detective jazz" track. There are some ambient sounds in the background when needed to further detail the world. My only remark here is the sudden (photocopier?) sound of the saving command that is maybe a little too loud in comparison to the rest of the sounds.

The game play:
Game play is fairly standard. You click around maps and locations to get items and clues to further your investigation. You have an inventory where you collect and combine stuff. When talking to an animal of interest you can proceed with a line of question or try to trigger a response by showing them a certain item. I found myself frantically combining items only once. :)

I don't normally leave reviews, but the community has been complaining and hackers counts are only increasing. Do something or you'll lose your player base. As cool as a season 2 and new rounds sound, if we won't be able to actually enjoy the game it won't last very long.

Awesome game, starts fun and a little crazt but as you progress you find yourself in a crazy story that you can't see to escape from.
