No, it does not. No, no no no no no. Battlebit does that. Rising Storm 2 does that.

This? This is not an in-between of arcade shooter and milsim. This is straight-up milsim. This is MILSIM milsim. You've got an astonishing amount of nuance, here. Usually, games just simulate the parts where you go and shoot other guys. This game simulates the logistics necessary for going out to shoot guys. The transportation hurdles to overcome to get to the other guys. The chaos of being shot at and not having big HUD icons to tell you who to shoot and who not to shoot. The aftereffects of needing to evacuate and/or attend to guys who've been shot. All of those details, all the "boring" parts of war, they're here.

It's a great game for the milsim crowd but it was pitched to me as "a more casual, battlefield-like experience for those who liked nuanced gunplay games like Red Orchestra" and it is 200% not that. Play Battlebit (also a good game) if you want that, because that's not what Squad is.

Someone finally decided to commit to attempting to make a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. MMO. That, and the entrance fee of zero dollars, make the game worth checking out. It'll only really appeal to you if you like the STALKER series though. Can't really recommend it to anyone that doesn't like the series.

PVP is annoying but you don't lose much at the moment. That's my only real gripe with this game.

a good, short game that's well worth the entry fee with just the right amount of self-awareness

Pretty good puzzle platformer. Keeps introducing tiny changes as you go on so its main mechanic doesn't get stale. Took me about four hours to beat; worth looking at if you're into puzzle platforming games. A word of advice that you need to complete all the puzzles to finish the game, so while you can leave areas and come back to them later I suggest you try and do them in the order you come across them and stick with them no matter how stumped you are.
