This is a fun and challenging game that will keep you playing for hours. The only complaint I have is that a few of the controls are difficult to use. Namely, if you are picking up a body, you can't click to place it somewhere until after the pick up animation completes. Otherwise your character will put down the body again and go to the place indicated.

An insulting amount of content for the price.

Fun game with great level design and often challenging combat.

Edit 3/25/24: This is just insulting, especially to Ultimate Edition purchasers. The meager list of bug fixes after months of waiting (and new bugs introduced), alongside the shockingly priced and incomplete DLC and the VERY beta modding and map-making support show just how little CO and Paradox think of their customers. I wish it weren't so, but the facts speak for themselves.

Edit 1/22/24: CO has now stated that mod capability is still months away, and content that we were told would be released in early 2024 is now scheduled for Q4 2024, over a year after release.

Original Review: I really wish this game was what was promised. It is not, and I don't know that it ever will be. CO doesn't seem to have capable enough developers, and either they are so incapable they didn't understand the scope of the problems with the game, hid that fact from their management, or their management lied to the community about it. There's nothing good to see here. No matter who's decision it was to release the game in it's current state, CO has burned all their community goodwill, and Paradox has once again proven they are willing to release incomplete and buggy content.

Would I have paid $30 for the current game as an Early Access release? Yes. Do I regret paying $80 for the game and expansion pass? Absolutely. Go support some other developer who is providing a finished game to their community.

Excellent slice of life game - the life of a lord!

Great ship design and interesting races. Fits well into the base game.

This fantastic game feels like a mix of a trading simulator, RPG, and classic choose-your-own-adventure, all wrapped up in resource management. The game is challenging and unforgiving, but also rewards smart planning and preparation. there are a few rough spots, particularly around the RNG in companion combat, but they are far outweighed by the excellent story and compelling game-play loop. You'll find yourself constantly managing supplies and coin to keep your comitatus running, while also exploring and pursuing quests for your characters and the factions within the game. The story is text-based and very well written.

The entire package comes together in a way that will have you planning trading routes and risky ventures long into the night.
