Cannot recommend enough. Wilds Improves upon its predecessors in all of the best ways.

The monsters are interesting and fun to fight.
The environments are fleshed out and fun to explore.
The combat is fantastic. Incredibly good.
The end-game grind is rewarding with an addicting gameplay loop.

While I recommend Elex 2, it's not a strong recommendation.

Elex 2 gives you a large world to explore, relationships to manage, factions to ally with, and monsters to kill.
The side-quests, character interactions, and faction quests are interesting and fun.
The gameplay is improved from the previous game.
There are interesting skill trees to unlock that can greatly modify your experience.
Combat certainly feels much better, and the jetpack in particular stands out and feels great to use.

However, I think Elex 2 could have been much better had it played to its strengths.
The main story is very weak, poorly paced, and feels unengaging. Huge missed potential.
The combat, while improved, still feels janky and frustrating to engage with.
The choices you make, while impactful, just aren't impactful enough to make you take them seriously.

Its trying to cast too wide of a net.
I feel like Elex 2 does't do well enough in the combat department to attract new players.
By doing this, they removed the focus on story that made the first Elex so charming.

I think its a hard game to recommend, but I played the first Elex so I'm used to doing things the hard way.

Elex feels like an old game. Janky is the right word- so janky it borders on unfriendly.

At first, I hated the game. Killing monsters was impossible and unrewarding. No loot, no level-ups.
Healing is painful and requires resources. The combat design doesn't try to reward skill. It's pointless to try to fight enemies higher level than you or in greater number.

It sucks. If you play it like you're the main character you get your ego checked. Its scary to explore.

That's when I started playing differently. Gearing up in towns, learning from NPCs, making allies to travel with, completing side quests and leveling up by avoiding combat.
That made the game fun. It made me engaged with the world and characters.

I still think the combat sucks, but I believe the story and exploration can carry your experience.
Elex, when looked at from the right perspective, is a fun, janky, slow, and very charming game.

Outer Wilds is a unique game that stands out so distinctly it makes other games look bad.

Refreshingly doing away with synthetic systems and mechanisms for player engagement.
Outer Wilds manages to harness the player's natural, fundamental motivations for playing.

Curiosity, exploration, discovery, experimentation, play.

By removing the boxes to check, the numbers to raise, and the bars to fill, Outer Wilds allows the player to experience a genuinely engaging, thrilling, and truly personal journey.

A reminder that good games do exist

Fantastic. I cannot recommend Monster Hunter: World enough.

Its fun and engaging. The monsters are fully fleshed out, and are deservedly the centerpiece of the game. The environments are almost as important as the monsters, and give the player a lot to learn and adapt to.

Its immersive. You can truly feel like a hunter who knows the ins-and-outs of your prey and your hunting ground.

It values your time. You will constantly be given new and interesting equipment to chase after. Everything is obtainable with the appropriate amount of effort. Nothing is kept behind a pay wall or time sink.

An experience that relentlessly surpasses expectations.
A vision executed with unbelievable cohesion.
An art piece to be discussed and admired.

Nier is one of a kind.

As a medium for telling a story, Nier is outstanding.
The gameplay is passable.
The quest design is terrible.

Beautiful, sincere, heartfelt
Experimental, ambitious, weird
Tedious, repetitive, opaque

Street Fighter 6 sets a new standard for fighting games.

Gameplay, ui, features, competitive balance, netcode, style and overall product quality- by almost every conceivable metric, Street Fighter 6 is the greatest fighting game ever released.
