Terrible game but that's not the point.

It's for the achievements to show on your profile.

10/10 serves it's purpose.

Very simple, fun, addicting game.

Better with Dead Dynamite, adds explosives/ammo and new quests. Even better with DLC bonus pets and weapons.

The co-op / 4 player on screen multiplayer is really well designed and the core gameplay is as well. You can have 1 Local Camp and multiple Online co-op camps with different levels/settings. 4 different "Profiles" or characters you can save and jump between camps. Wish some newer games had these options...

Honestly the game could use some mods to flesh out some more but there's well over 100 hours of gameplay in here.

Yes, some is repetive and there's a little grind if you want to max out levels but it becomes fun when you play with friends as mentioned above.

I'm actually playing this on XboX one right now and I'd recommend that one as well even though it doesn't have Dead Dynamite and some other features.

All I can say is this game is still in EARLY ACCESS development. It is NOT finished. 9/3/18
They've removed the label but the development, patch releases and new content are still treated like Early Access.

Still constantly changing core gameplay mechanics and values, still adding broken untested content, still haven't finished core elements of the game.

To be positive it has TONS of potential but is suffering greatly from very bad development decisions.

I suggest giving them at least another 6 months before investing in this game. That being said they've had years and while it's improved greatly we still have an Early Access game on our hands.

If you really understand what Early Access means, and you're ok with playing a game like that then I would say go ahead. Just be aware you have no guarantee anything in the game will work. However they're charging a full $60 for an Early Access game which isn't completed and I don't think that's fair.

Full Price = Full Product.

If you do buy it make sure you back up your saves DAILY and download the 3rd party Save Editor as you will likely need it to solve bugs in the game. The devs do not acknowledge these bugs and just let the community fix their own problems with mods and save edits.

If you complain, all you get are excuses and backlash from the community.

To top it all off the new community event they released before fixing bugs is broken for more than half the players.

Not an experience I'd recommend.

Since I have hope for the game I will continue to check on it's progress and will update this review if they somehow manage to resolve all the issues and change their development model and practices.

I'm not very far but a glaring issue has already presented itself.

Quests are not fully voiced, some are partially voiced and the presentation is very choppy and weird.

Couldn't even finish the first quest... It's like a weird mix of playing old FF games and something else. But it's 2018 and it's a fully priced game... so why isn't it completed? I don't know.

FFXV is cheaper, fully voiced, has a full theatrical presentation. All current DLC included in the price as well... This game may have some neat stuff that's better in ways but if you skip the MAIN part of the game well I just don't care about the rest

So I was apprehensive about buying due to all the complaints about DLC etc. but said F it and bought it all on sale. This game is tuned to a specific type of player in mind. You're either going to love it or hate it. As far as the DLC is concerned I have to play devil's advocate here, many times in the past I've played a game and thought to myself, God, I would pay more money if they would just do X. Most of the time I don't get my wish, the community isn't strong enough to justify putting more money into the game so they just leave things where they are. If you're lucky you get a good modding community and get that stuff for free, but it's usually a hassle. This game you get both, they kept developing, and you get the modding community. I feel like some games never get the attention (development) they deserve because everyone's trying to stay within a certain price point. It would be like trying to manufactur EVERY car to end up as the same price, or within a small range that's acceptable to the community... so if we made and sold cars like we did games, we'd never have Aston Martin's or Porches or whatever your favorite luxury car is... to me this is a luxury strategy game, yes it costs more, but it has ALOT more features than other strategy games, and just like cars it comes with factory options as well as after market upgrades :) So I have to thank Paradox for their strategy here, and all the players that supported the game enough to get them to invest more into it, otherwise this would've just been another game that could've been great. Well done. As far as the prices, they could be cheaper, and I would like that, but I think they are smart people that worked hard and deserve some extra cash, I'd say it's fair at current sale prices and they should be dropped for good, it's still expensive and still fair for what you're getting imho.

Early Access Review
Very cool although currently rather small survival builder (early access) game with demons instead of zombies... has great potential. From what I can tell it's a good dev team, they seem to care more about stability and balance than adding features which is great. Mod support... AWESOME. Nice work guys. I LOVE THE ART STYLE. Can't wait to see what's coming. Hard to tell sometimes with early access but I have a good feeling about this one.

ALSO... Learn 2 Early Access... read some reviews and people just don't get Early Access yet, you have to limit the expectations you set in your mind and stop trying to play the game and realize your just testing and unfinished product right now... you'll have more fun that way :) That or just wait until the game is released, geez.
