Take a hard pass on this folks.

I didn't like it for these reasons.

• Controller configurations are non functional for both consoles. That's just lazy and sloppy development.
  
• When you're in a free roam mode and you wipe out after attempting a trick. The only option is to respawn on the opposite side of the map and not where you wiped out. This is a waste of my time to bike up a mountain, wipe out, respawn on the opposite side of the map, bike up the mountain to try it again. The developers are clearly not mountain bikers otherwise they'd 'get' the need to try and perfect that trick they're attempting.
  
• Out of the box graphics settings overheated my video card...and its current gen with the latest drivers. How does that happen? Again, lazy and sloppy development. I'm afraid to venture further into this game as I'm probably going to see more examples of lazy and sloppy development from a company that's never rode mountain bikes before.

Even if this game is on sale, take a hard pass on it folks until they fix this stuff.

I just really started playing this game this week and man oh man this is probably the perfect game. So much to do so many activities just within one section. And when you run into places you can't go because you haven't acquired a weapon, going back to that place with the weapon turns a previously played area into a brand new area. The story line is amazing.

The graphics may be a bit dated but you really don't think about it while you're playing. The game grabs you, sucks you in and takes you on a roller coaster of a ride. I've played for just 13 hours and I'm just getting started (based on overall progress).

The sign of a great game is one that can take you away from reality for however long you're playing a game. This game is just that - a great game.

This game is worth the price at full price. If you see it on sale, you just scored one hell of a deal.

I'm really digging the remastered game as well as the multiplayer. It brought back a lot of great memories when first playing it on Xbox. The middle section got repetitive and old...quickly but overall this is still a great game. For a game that was designed to show off the power and capabilities of the original Xbox, this game still holds up well.

My only negative would be that it would be great if the developers stated that the other games were not available at launch as I really wanted to play some of the later games now. However, given what's available now, it's worth the wait.

Now keep in mind this is a pre-alpha build so its not a full game yet.

That said, these are my notes from my first play through...

1) If you have a tricked out Keyboard (I'm using a Microsoft Natural keyboard) update the keyboard to the latest drivers before starting. I couldn't get F1 or F3 to work until I did that.

2) Controllers work in this version (Used a PS4 Dualshock for a few minutes) BUT you can't configure any non action settings yet. The most annoying thing is that you can't tweak the X/Y axis inversion.

3) Rebind ALL your keyboard shortcuts at the start as multiple actions are bound to the same key.

4) If a key isn't bound, there's no notification that a key isn't bound. It's just a white box which is really annoying if you're playing for the first time. I spent a lot of time at the start trying to figure out how to make the first club until I discovered the grabbing resources key wasn't bound.

5) If a walker goes over the side of a hill and is stuck (on a 90 degree hill drop) it needs a flip walker option as well.

6) I know it's a pre-alpha but my hud disappeared completely near the end of my session.

I'll play more #LastOasis later. Really, really digging it so far. It's a fun game and I can't wait to see how it evolves into the full version!
