Good fun, especially with friends.

They screwed it up pretty fantastically with the whole PS login thing, but they fixed that and the studio (arrowhead) who make the game seem pretty legit.

An incredible game, both graphically and storywise. I bought this on discount but it would be an easy full price purchase if I had to do it again.

This is one of those times I wish I could give games a 'meh' rating. I guess I'm the 2 in 100 that doesn't really love this game, which is a real bummer because it's been on my list for a while.The good

• Exploration is cool, and there's lots to discover. It plays like an oldschool adventure game at times, where you have to figure out the right combination of things to get something to happen
• That new dungeon feel(TM) - Exploring a new dungeon is cool, the music is awesome and most of the animations are satisfying so killing monsters is entertaining.
• If you like to roleplay, this game will let you go wild. Want to build a beach house? A jungle house? A house made of iron? Silver? Gold? Covered, covered and covered. There is a large amount of items, and customising your house (if that's what you're into) can be rewarding.

The bad:

• The UI/UX is awful, unconventional and antagonistic to the player. A few examples: Ctrl+click doesn't move stacks, it destroys them. You can't have crafting windows open without it covering your screen, and opening them requires you to press ESC by default (what!?). You can't craft multiple items at the same time. There's more, but I don't know how these have never been addressed after all the time
• There are no in-game guides about how to do almost anything, so you have to be prepared to spend many hours discovering things, or just googling them. Unless you have 200 hours to spend trying to explore every little nook, it eventually just feels tedious.
• There's tiers of weapons and progression that are useless because they become outdated too fast, or are skipped completely. The takes away some of the feeling of progression because you're forced to go through an area only to find you already have a better item.
• The primary reason this game lost my interest though - You can experience the entirety of the core game loop within the first 45 mins and the rest of the game is basically the same. Dig, mine, return with ore and craft. Repeat forever.

I think this game is OK. I won't give it a negative review, but that's primarily because I got 30 hours of enjoyment out of it before the tedium really set in, and for the price that's reasonable.

Like most of you, I have 20 other games waiting for my attention in my library. This one is barely worth it on sale.

Ultimately, because I got bored of playing and will never go back, this is getting a thumbs down.

Game is awesome. Ignore all the recent negative reviews from people complaining. This is like space engineers but actually has a core game mode to it, instead of being just a sandbox. Most fun I've had in a game in this genre in years.
