Very solid tactical FPS, if you're a fan of more "realistic" shooters (slower movement speed, greater weapon recoil, lower time to kill, etc) Insurgency: Sandstorm is a solid choice!

If you are a fan of the original Insurgency then Sandstorm is a no brainer. It keeps all the best elements from the first game but improves in several areas, graphics, sound design, gun play, customization etc. The game offers multiple game modes from the standard PvP like the original, a new competitive mode, 8 man co-op (Hardcore Co-op for a greater challenge), and the newly (ish) added co-op zombie mode "Frenzy". Beware of molotovs...

Overall an easy recommendation from me!

Napoleon Total War is one of my favorite in the series for its battles! The campaign itself I found to be weaker then Empire Total War, but the battles are much faster paced and just a ton of fun.

If you prefer campaigns over battles, I would suggest Empire Total War. However if you don't care much for the campaign (or you want a vs campaign), then pick up Napoleon Total War. Solid entry into the series!

If you're interested in a good Roman themed Total War game, buy Rome 1. If you're a fan of the newer style (Rome 2 onwards), of the Total War series, then buy Total War Atilla.

Rome 2 is still a frustrating game to play without mods. Yes there are mods that make the game better, but if a game requires mods to FIX CORE GAMEPLAY, it's not a good game and isn't worth your money.

TL;DR - This mod, while short, is very sweet! It is amazing and I would highly reccomened it to any Half-Life fan or even to none HL fans, since the mechanics in this are very interesting and fun, in a sort of tech demo way.

Full Review:

This was an amazingly well done mod! I have to stress how well put together it was and just the overall quality both in mechanics, level design, atmosphere, and of course gameplay.

The Mechanics are a really cool concept and very original (to my knowlegde no game/mod has ever had the lighting based mechanics with enemies before), and the idea of the gravity jumper is pure awesomeness, and totally something I could see in HL3!

The Level Design was also really really well done, particularly the last level, which I won't spoil here as it's something I highly recommened people expereience for themselves! The puzzles also felt very Valve like and once again would fit perfectly in say, HL3.

Atmosphere. Oh the atmosphere. I have to say, this felt JUST like playing through HL2 for the first time, and once again I could totally see this being the introduction (or mid point "re-introduction") for HL3.

Gameplay was SOOOOOOO much fun! Like really, don't take more word for it, download this RIGHT NOW and try it for yourself! Again, the Gravity Jumper was great to use, and worked really well. I was a bit concerned about fall damage, but it seemed to always know when I had jumped and didn't take any.

Overall this mod is great! It is pretty short, and honestly felt like a tech demo, but it wasn't so short that it was pointless. It was short. But very very sweet! My only complaint is I want more!!!
I really want to stress my respect and appreciation to this mod team! Your guys work here is amazing and highly deserving of attention! As someone with a very basic understanding/low level experience with coding/programming, I am actually very curious to know how difficult a lot of the coding for this was, cause I can imagine it might be quite tricky, which just shows how talented and skilled this team is!!!

P.S. Tin-foil-hat time!
So, what if (and stay with me here, this is going to sound crazy I know!), this is actually a tech demo for HL3? What if Valve released this under the guise of a mod to get a feel for what people thought of the mechanics and get some feedback from the community? What if this actually a glimpse of Half-Life 3?!?! I know that's crazy, just a wild thought that popped into my head (I am writing this at night while fairly tired...), but how amazing would it be if that were actually the case?

OK so joking conspiracy theories aside, this is a really amazing mod and I don't want anything I said above to in anyway detract from the makers of this mod. But yeah, IMO, this could totally be something made by Valve, so that just shows how truely awesome these modders are!!! Keep up the good work Shokunin, Thomas M. Visser, and Vincent Thiele! You guys are awesome!
