get ready for loading screen after loading screen after loading screen and even if you want to play offline it still has to authenticate. Terrible launch , youd think theyd have the server stuff figured out by now.

If you enjoyed any of these games on any level:
Nier Automata, Dead Cells, Metroid Fusion, Enter The Gungeon, Risk of Rain, Zone Of The Enders (or MGS), Hades, Symphony of the Night

you'll feel right at home with this game, very easy to pick up and decent difficulty modifiers.

Pros:
The amount of guns choices, enemy types, boss fights, mechanics, combos, stellar music and gameplay animations are stellar for a game this size and price. The game is literred with hundreds of video game references from 80s to more recent stuff.

Cons:
Uninspired story, forgettable cast, some of the story facial animations comes off as unintentionally goofy at the worst times and a very shallow weapon merge/crafting system.

Conclusion:
It doesn't reinvent the wheel or revolutionize the genre but if you treat it like the action flick that it is, you can find something to like.
If you are on the fence about this game ..... wait till it gets a major update, they might tweak some of the rushed assets and mechanics. If you are craving something new after the hole Hades left behind, this is a good choice.

Highly recommend if you played any of the originals. This remake is well done, handles smoothly and plays just like you used to remember. Some of the character models do show age but im really impressed how far the rework team did to make sure their movements weren't stiff and still had the scare factor behind them.

Takes everything from Castlevania that you could want into a nice package. If you like even mild action games but arent into platforms this game is a lot of fun my only gripe is the random slow downs when entering/leaving area but its very minor.
