A caring recreation of the wizarding world that is fun to explore

The gameplay is quite fun and the story pretty decent. Its a good way to get to experience this world and I do hope to see some more. It's clear that several of the devs are fans of the series as you can see that a lot of passion has been put into this.

I will say that the puzzles and things can get a bit tedious and boring over time (talking 20+ hours in) I would like to see some more variation. The combat can also get somewhat stale once you've unlocked everything, but I could help this somewhat by upping the difficulty which changes the combat slightly.

Still, this is a great first entry and if this could be improved upon in a DLC or 2nd iteration then I could highly recommend it.

Genuinely a 10/10 game
(if you like cats especially)

It's very cute, the gameplay is fun, it looks beautiful and the atmosphere, world and music are all great too.

GAMEPLAY: A good mix of platforming, puzzles, stealth and action.
It makes you think, but keeps it at a good level where you're still allways progressing. You can solve a lot of the puzzles yourself, but if you need it, you can also often ask the characters for clues.

The level design is also great, they use lighting and colours well, which helps guide you through the levels, and they are great at introducing gameplay mechanics naturaly, so that when you need them, you already know what to do and it doesn't pause the flow of the game, like some tutorials do.

The movement also feels great on a controller. Just moving and running around feels nice and makes even that part fun.

OTHER: The characters and story is actually very enjoyable, you can easily really get into the world. It may not be anything revolutionary, but it's good. The music also helps with the atmosphere a lot, it fits really well and sounds great.
Visually the game is also great. I'm impressed by the amount of stuff everywhere, it really feels like a lived-in world, both indoors and outdoors, which can be fairly rare to see in games. It never feels empty, even in areas that basically are. It just looks great

Simply put.. there's a reason I 100% the game!

Another great game from FromSoftware, 9/10

It keeps the great formula of DarkSouls, but with the added weapon skills from Sekiro, more unique magic spells and in general more ways to approach combat. It's pretty addictive

It builds upon the already established formula whilsts also opening up the game for new players. With the plethera of ways to approach combat it allows you to scale the difficulty to your liking. The open world also allowing for easier grinding if you need to level up. All without really compromising the DarkSouls formula.

The open-world is especially impressive. It keeps introducing new areas, beautiful vistas and most impressive of all, it keeps introducing new interesting encounters, even after 60+ hours. This open world is truly an acomplishment by the studio. Few other open-world games even come close. The verticality especially is unlike anything I've seen in other games. Exploring a vast city with several floors, only to then realize that undernieth the city, there's an equaly large area to explore is amazing, it makes the game feel larger than any other game I've played. It also encurages you to actually explore, and that is also something they dealt with well...there are actually good reasons to explore. You're rewarded by exploring by finding new weapons, skills and fun and interesting encounters.

One slight downside to the open world, which I think could be improved upon in the future, is the variety in difficulty. In the beginning it can be a bit confusing, you're not sure if it's difficult because it SHOULD be, or because you entered an area too early. Later on it also leaves you with the occasional, very easy fight. You feel a bit cheated, like you wasted a good fight, had you just gone there a little earlier. That being said, not knowing how powerful an enemy might be, is also kind of exciting, it makes the world feel more alive.

Another thing, is that some of the A.I and bosses aren't quiiiiiite as polished as in lets say, DarkSouls 3. I think it's unavoidable with such a huge world though, given the timeframe of development. But overall the enemies are great, so this is also a very minor note

It's these last 2 things that brings it down from a 10/10 for me.

However... I would recommend everyone to give this game a try! It's seriously fun

The brutal animations make stealth not just effective but also fun. It's great to see some familiar characters from the books and films that now have a chance to get fleshed out a bit more. The voice actors are really great, the Orcs especially. The relatively vast world is also fun to traverse. Overall it's a very enjoyable game.

For those that enjoy collectables, they make them a bit more fun and interesting in this game as well, with added lore being spoken of (that is actually interesting), or having to solve a poem using words you collect to open a door that grants you a unique weapon. There is an actual reason to collect these, something that many games fail at even today, so that was great to see. I wouldn't perhaps say it is the BEST implementation i've seen, but it's pretty good.

HALO Infinite is a classic HALO game, yet modern.

GAMEPLAY: It blends the gameplay of HALO 5 with the classic Halo games.
It is quicker and more modern like HALO 5, but taken down to a more classic HALO approach which makes it feel like the old games, yet modern.
The choice of making abilities like boosting and grapplinghooks into pick-ups on the levels in style with HALO 3 also enhances the experience, not just by making it feel more classic, but also helps with the level design and helps balancing the game.

I also felt like playing with a mouse & keyboard felt a lot better in Infinite than the Masterchief Collection. I prefer playing with a controller, but I was just as happy to play with a mouse & keyboard this time around.

SOUNDS: AMAZING. Each weapon truly pops, they all have a nice punch to them. Their efforts of recording real weapons for this game and their editing later on, has truly payed off. Few games' weapons sound this great.

THE ART: style is back to the more cartoony look of the older games, while still keeping a realistic touch, I think this was done really well. (A nice bonus is that the game looks good even on lower resolutions & settings.)

MAPS: the current maps are all pretty well made, although I wish for more (which might come with the release, or will just be made by the community later on). They play well, look nice and helps create fun and even games.

WEAPONS: Each weapon is pretty unique and fill different roles with pros and cons for each situation, making the choice of weapon a more important and interesting part of the game. I would like to have a few more weapons, but we do have some great classics like the Battle Rifle and perhaps more will be added with the release of the campaign?

OVERALL: I think 343 did a great job adressing the fans' critique from their other games, while making something new that still feels modern, yet emitts that classic HALO feel.
I know fans have been sceptical, but I think everyone at 343 Studios have done an amazing job in all aspects of the game and I think they deserve lots of respect for actually listening to their fans and daring to make changes.

Great job 343, truly.

Early Access Review
The game is really well polished, the structure integrity makes the base building a little more interesting without making it too difficult and the combat with its free movement is fun as well as interesting with its blocking and dodging mechanics.

While the game can also be enjoyed in a sort of slow sandbox way like Minecraft, the clearer goals of defeating bosses to gain new materials and items gives the player a clearer goal and a clear reason to play even after several hours have been spent. Great for people who quickly gets tired of Sandbox type games.

It's HALO, it's good.

Its a great collection with the allowed increase in FPS and FOV amongst other new upgrades.
The crossplatform saves and achievements is great for those that care about that.
Its an easy way to play HALO on PC, across multiple games, both campaign and multiplayer.

I played HALO Reach recently on my Xbox360 Slim, but the framerate is horrendous and the image quality garbage. This is partly due to my Xbox being the Slim model and my TV not being great. But the fact that I can now enjoy it in 60fps 2k resolution is awesome. It keeps the old games playable and relevant much longer than they otherwise would have been. (Although Halo 1 and 2 on my OG Xbox still slaps)

It's a fun, traditional platform, puzzle, adventure kind of game, in similar fashion as the old Spyro games. If you miss those kinds of games, this is a great choice!

Its a great action game with similar combat to DarkSouls in the way that you freely control your character, can dodge, block and attack with interesting and very different weapons. Your own skill also affects the difficulty of the game, something I appreciate. The game isn't purely based on stats like some RPGs and you can get better at the game through practice, whilst it is still kind to new players.

It's a game that could easily have ended up being very "grindy", on paper it definately is. But it handles its gameplay very well with several monsters and different variants of these without being too repetitive.

The social aspects of the game is also great. You can go on quests with other players, just chill out in the gathering hub or tackle challenges in the Arena.

Customizing your character can also be fun, especially with the ICEBORNE dlc's additions where you can combine armour pieces on top of your actual armour. One armour setting your stats, the other your visual look. Then there's your home, that you can also customize and furniture. You can even add pets that you caught in the world!

I've played earlier titles of the Monster Hunter series and World introduces a lot of "quality of life" improvements that makes it less grindy and makes it more accessable for new players without taking away too much of what makes the game challenging and engaging in a way that old players will appreciate.

It is a great addition to the franchise and the ICEBORNE expansion makes it even better.
Truly reccommend this game.

I do not have any VR controllers and have simply been playing with the Oculus Rift and an Xbox controller, but even so, the experience is greatly immerisive and a lot of fun.

The game works surprisingly well in VR and it runs smoothly, which makes the experience enjoyable.
