I wanted to love this. Finally a "next gen" PC basketball experience. But it just happened.

I'm playing MyGM mode, and made it to my 6th game without issues. But I was just tooling around with another camera while playing the Magic, and boom. I unpaused the game, and everything was in slow motion. I reset the camera settings back to 2kLow, and quit to the main menu after saving my game. Loaded it back up, and the same issue persisted. Closed the whole game out, launched it again, and turned off Vsync: same issue. I even restarted my machine and it refuses to go away. I tried simming the game to the end, but through 3 quarters, no one on either team made a shot...

I missed out on the fact that I was facing other bugs, like the timeout\substitute issue, or the fact that ray-tracing doesn't really exists here....

Damnit 2k. I have to refund this. Too many bugs


EDIT: 9.12 - There was an update, and it seems to have fixed my slow motion issues. I'll test the Simulcast and report back, but we are back in business!

This game has changed.

I willingly spent hundreds on this game, in it's infancy, as it was a "better" alternative to Overwatch. But, the Devs got greedy, started monetizing the game in a voracious manner, and boom, here we are.

If you have never played this game before, and can't afford the entry cost of Overwatch, then download and play it, as the bones of this game are still great.

On the other hand, if you've played Overwatch, there's no need to play this game. It is F2P in title, only.

In all honesty, Dota 2 is the best follow up to a game that was created out of Fandom and creativity... ever.

I've played nearly 3,000 hours in the last 3 years of this games existence, and outside of the fact that Peruvians have pledged to only play on US East and West Servers during your Ranked matches, this game has everything: The Competitive Scene for the number crunching, MMR chasers, normal public matches for the casuals, and the Arcade for those that want to either create or have some mindless fun, because, at the end of the day, this is still a game, right?

The community surrounding Dota is amazing. The Marketplace actually votes Cosmetic items into the game, and they are given real world valuations. You can sell these items, and buy other games on Steam!

I digress, Dota is more than simply a game, it is a brand that is in it's best iteration at the moment, and I cannot wait to see where it goes.

Doesn't really need a reccomendation, but if you haven't played the first one, this game is awesome anyhow.

Characters are really given life this go 'round, and the writing is absolutely hilarious, whilst still giving the player a true sense of purpose.

Multiplayer is where the meat of the game is, though, and looting is the name of the game. Alas, the legendary weapon drops are soooo rare (hence the legendary status), that it almost kills the replayability of the bosses in True Vault Hunter Mode...
I mean, why farm a boss 150+ times if the best chance you have for a weapon is the fist time you get the kill.....?
