Absolutely infested with aimbots.

Skiddies have their bots spew racist or harassing messages in chat, along with the aimbotting to instakill players on the other team. In 2020, valve added a change to allow only premium accounts - ones that have paid for the game - to use the chat systems in an attempt to mitigate the issue. Turns out skiddies don't mind paying the fee, so all that it accomplished was prevent F2P players from using chat (even the default character voicelines like calling for medic!) and giving valve another revenue stream.
