I remember when this game was first released on GOG. I tried the demo and wasn't really impressed. After that, I pretty much forgot about it. Months later, I was offered a review key and told that the game was receiving its 4th major update. I have to say that the game has improved considerably since that original demo I tried. What was an endearing, but mostly forgettable game has evolved into a solid turn-based roguelite. It's challenging, but fair. Strategy is crucial, but you can certainly come back from making mistakes. There's long-term rewards to work towards that motivate me as a player to stay in the game. Finally, there's a clear ending that you're working towards in the story mode. After spending 4 hours in the tutorial, I was hooked. Now, I'm currently playing the actual story mode, and I'm definitely motivated to try to reach the ending.

I love the art style and the sounds effect. The writing, though ironically not super important to the experience, is funny in its own way. I can't say how much I'd pay for the game, but it's certainly worth picking up in a sale.

Fun little game. Not too complicated but has a bit of evolution of the gameplay as you progress. I haven't finished it yet but I predict you can get at least 8 - 10 hours out of it in single playthrough.

I hate FPS. And I'm not a huge fan of Hell themed games but this game is awesome. Probably the best FPS I've ever played. Feels good, sounds good, looks brutal AF, and you feel like a total badass while playing it. Not very long so definitely wait for a sale since you'll only get about 12 hours from it if you're a single playthrough type of gamer, like I am. But certainly worth playing. I'll absolutely be picking up DOOM Eternal at some point because of how much I enjoyed playing this one.
