ive updated my profile to say 'do not add me' rather than interact. I do however sometimes talk to older people if their interests are similar to mine (I enjoy a lot of older media / music) and they arent in any weird nsfw groups, friends with nsfw people, and i cant find anything close to anything weird on their profile, so that is an exception I make. But anyone over 20 with anything remotely similar to what I listed on their profile, I prefer not to talk to

Wanting to avoid anyone over 20 on the internet as a minor is a very fair standpoint imo, but why have comments enabled to the public or talk to strangers at all? Doesn't that put you in a position where someone with bad intentions can lie about their age? Where do you draw the line?

go to a forums, and you'll speak to people cause they say stuff. go to a mp game, and you'll play with ppl as fellow players. those're interactions, but age isn't the question.

I can understand if youre related, like talking to your cousin whos younger than you or one thats older, but when its strangers online and youre willingly interacting with a minor at the age of 21+ it feels really weird. There are so many ppl who are 18+ that you could be interacting with instead, so why choose someone who isnt as mentally mature as you, is vulnerable, as well as is occupied with learning? There is just no valid reason to me other than creepy undertones and thats not something I want to risk at all. I hope that helps explain ^^

Cause im 16, and anyone over 20 whos talking to a 16 year old is a red flag to me. The maturity gap is too much for it to be a normal friendship. Its the same as I wouldnt be friends with a middle schooler/
