This game is every bit as fantastic as it seemed from the prerelease demo. I'd classify it as an rogue-lite mansion-building story-rich puzzle game. Highly recommended! Even if you don't like puzzling, just enjoy the rooms. Performance wise, runs well enough on Steamdeck at 1440p desktop mode.

I'll edit this later when I've done uncovering all (most?) of it; 31 hours in I'm still discovering new things!

Update @43 hours: Reached the fabled room 46 on day 16, the trophy was waiting the next day :) There is still things to unravel though; story beads, some puzzles to solve, closed doors, etc. And still not seen all possible rooms. The great thing about the game however is that almost every run you will gain something, even if the goal you set yourself that day is not always obtainable.

About playing this in sessions: a good run takes ~2 hours. You can only 'call it a day' and save/quit or save/continue, which is a little inconvenient when life gets in the way. I'd love it if the devs could add a 'take a break' option that would create a snapshot from which to continue later.

Looking forward to the announced video game, roaming pet, and support for (ultra) widescreen. Will it also be possible to sit down in the various rooms and relax? One can dream.

Fantastic so far. I'd be up for a real VR version too ;)

Fun game if you're in the mood to roam around a manor. The graphics are pretty great; do a good job of presenting an expensive-looking environment. The story/atmosphere is okay, starts off interesting, but around the middle the game becomes more about just tracking and using objects. Thankfully it picks up near the end. Overall I enjoyed myself.

The journal and map could be improved upon a bit. The game keeps a journal of essentials, but I found there were a few items/names/observations missing that I needed to note down manually. It would perhaps been better if the journal kept a bit more info than you would need, to better hide the elements needed to solve puzzles. Similarly, the map marks most unsolved puzzles as you encounter them, but since it shows the complete mansion it does not help you remember doors that were locked when you tried them. Perhaps adding rooms only when you've actually entered them would have helped with this part of roaming around.

One light complaint about the default controller layout: it binds ''show global objective'' under press-rightstick', which is useful, but ''show hint'' under press-leftstick which I found makes it far too easy to activate a hint by accident (so a spoiler in effect). I replaced this with keyboard-I for Inventory, a much more useful shortcut that does not take one out of the game so much: by default one has to go through a generic looking menu-screen and select the inventory button to get there.

Fun game. The format of setting up a short story followed by either a positve or negative continuation depending on your trivia performance, works perfectly to keep you invested. Some of the stories/characters receive follow-ups or re-occur. Even the kids (12 & 14) got enchanted seeing me play the game and had fun helping out to make sure the 'good' outcomes were reached.

Recommended if you're in for a shorter and not to complex Cyberpunk-themed story. Loved the look and feel. The game allows for experimenting with different attack & defense systems, but I found I did not really need to use much of the arsenal to be able to complete the game (on normal difficulty, no idea if this is shaken up a bit more on harder.). While this did not bother me, in hindsight this probably could have been a bit deeper. Still, all in all, I enjoyed it.

Especially since the downpour DLC, this game has become one of the kids' favorites to play either single player (getting all the slugcats to their various endings) or having lots of fun in co-op arenas vs enemies. Before the DLC, the game was quite hard, Downpour allows one to start with an easier character to get the hang of things.

Tried to love it but could not. Gameplay is too simplistic for me.

Beware couch/family gamers. Disappointingly, the "karma" mode which is arguably the main attraction of this game, is NOT available for local coop.

While I absolutely love the idea behind this title, it really needs a different way of rendering to achieve its goal of being close to reality, some better form of temporal anti-aliasing. As it stands the artifacts are very distracting. Increasing render scale to several 100% did not do much to improve this.

Try one of the SteamVR 'Pavilition' Environments instead. Those feel very much more relaxing to me sitting outside in the sun. The trees (albeit much more sparse) appear much better there.

This game shows that the concept of the Room games is as a good fit for VR as I imagined it to be. I enjoyed the "sizing" and "stars" puzzles in particular, think they really work well in VR.

The environments are interesting enough that I would have loved a more free type of teleportation to look around and be much more immersed - you are limited to a very few fixed spots. Perhaps just marking these with a slightly different color or circle size when teleporting would have been enough to indicate their importance to the puzzles.

Here is to hoping the devs can find a way to efficiently design their games for both flatscreen and a VR edition, and release many more VR editions of their games in the future!
