Inspired by classic shmups including R-Type or Blood Money, Remote Life features plenty of bullet hell action. Its aesthetic is dark and twisted like an HR Giger painting, there's excellent diversity in the weapons, and combat is satisfying. Remote Life can be punishingly difficult, but there's plenty to keep you coming back for one more play.

Season Match is a solid match-three game with decent visuals and music. There's diversity between levels; some are definitely more puzzle than brute force matching. While there's not a ton of originality, the game mechanics work very well.

If anything, I feel like the power-ups were poorly implemented. Not like it mattered, as I was able to complete 95% of the game without using power-ups.

It'll take you approximately 8 to 12 hours to finish the game with both arcade and quest modes. You should easily be able to get all achievements by the time you're done.

I cannot get this thing to load. It freezes immediately upon launch. My PC is fully up-to-date, and it's more than capable. For a $60 USD game, this is a complete travesty. I understand launch day bugs, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

Steam friends who want this game.... Do not buy. Hold off until Hello Games gets their crap together and releases something that's not in alpha form.

I really like the creative ways that Namco has taken Pac-Man since the game debuted back in 1980. While Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is my absolute favorite follow-up, Pac-Man 256 is a very close second.

Pac-Man 256 embraces the "board 256 glitch" from the original game where the maze itself would be partially covered with random symbols and letters. In this game, the glitch manifests itself by slowly creeping up from the bottom portion of the ever-scrolling, randomized maze. If you dwell too long in a certain area, you'll be overcome by the glitch and die.

Speaking of death, you've got one life. That's it. Make it count!

To help you get a high score, there are various power-ups that you can choose at the beginning of a game. You need to unlock them by getting coins, and you can only choose three at a time. Power-ups from your chosen load out will then appear randomly through the maze along with power pellets, coins, and score-multiplying fruit. Power-ups range from lasers to traps to tornadoes to bombs. There's good diversity, and you can have fun mixing and matching once you have enough unlocked.

The game is all about getting a high score, of course. However, you'll also get coins for completing specific missions. Missions include things like eat 6 cherries, kill 20 ghosts with the laser, and eat five beam power-ups. If anything, I fault the coin payout system. It's completely random and never seems to match the difficulty of the mission itself. This is frustrating and makes the game a grind if you're trying to max out all power-ups.

All-in-all, I recommend this game. There are new new ghost behaviors to learn, new power-ups/weapons to try, and a new twist on the classic gameplay to enjoy.

For the record, I grew up watching bad B-Movies. Also, I love MST3K. Finally, I've enjoyed director's commentary tracks since I got my first laserdisc (YUP! I'm old!) back in 1994. For me, this game fuses all of those things.

It's an isometric action shooter where players can swap between the two main characters of a horrible sci-fi movie. You face stop-motion dinosaurs, man-eating plants, talking (and acrophobic) apes, Sleestaks (not called that for obvious legal reasons), pterodactyls, squids, ants, and MORE! Oh, yeah... The movie's director keeps interjecting his own stream of hilarious banter, too.

Weapons are aplenty; you can have two melee and two projectile weapons on you at all times. The guns and truncheons are as goofy as the game's concept -- yet deadly.

There are also jet packs, teleportation abilities, etc.

I'm only about an hour into the campaign, and I've laughed out loud so many times! This game was lovingly crafted by devs who clearly enjoy the genre they're mocking. It's also a decent game on its own right.

I grew up with Arkanoid (a.k.a. "Ark-annoyance") and Breakout. *gasp* Get off my lawn! I'm old.

Grey Cubes brings a lot of fun to the Breakout genre. There's enough diversity in both the power-ups and level design to keep you coming back.

I'm having a lot of fun with this one.

This game takes me back to a time when Quake, Half-Life, and Unreal Tournament owned my multiplayer fragging world. It's fast-paced, the weapons are familiar, and both the visuals and audio are excellent.

As of the time I write this, there are only two maps. I've played the crap out of the deathmatch map, and I've only started playing the capture the flag map. Both are lots of fun. I'm also very interested in the introduction of vehicles with the CTF map; they remind me a bit of Halo.

Assuming that the developer continues to add maps, modes, and mutators, I highly recommend the game's purchase when it goes gold. Until then, if you're willing to take a chance on early access and you don't mind a small subset of gameplay, I also recommend purchase.

I've played plenty of RPGs but never a deck building game. This was a first for me -- and it's awesome!

We all know that procedurally generated RPGs are randomized hallways and rooms. This game brilliantly exposes that in the form of cards (representing rooms/encounters) that are dealt with each level. In this form, it actually makes sense for a group of bloodthirsty goblins to be lurking right next to an innocent trader.

I have to admit that the combat is a bit weak. The "slash-stun-block" key mashing didn't work for me in games like Ryse, and the combat here seems even more watered down. Of course, there's LOOT! Loot makes everything better in the end. :-)

I've only played the 1.0 release, and I'm looking forward to future updates. There's a lot of fun to be had in the current version, and there's a bunch of promise in its expansion.

8/10 -- Recommended

I have fond memories of playing "Time Pilot" and "Two Tigers" in the arcade when I was a kid. This game is a stylish mash-up of the two -- with cool unlockable upgrades. Recommended!

This game is so goofy! At its heart, it's a mediocre third-person platformer / hack 'n' slash game. BUT...

I couldn't help being entertained by the story. The voice acting is great, the music is awesome, and there are tons of (American) pop culture references. Just as I started growing bored with the action, a cutscene would make me laugh out loud. Did I mention musical numbers and rap battles? And heavy metal? And hitting enemies with guitars that spew fire? Awesomesauce.

For under $5, playing B.B.P. is far more entertaining than watching a re-run of your favorite sitcom.
