One of the most fun superhero games ever made, weird as that sounds. You also become the President by defusing a bomb strapped to a rocket and landing in the Oval Office, eradicate world hunger or cancer, and punch a politician in the nuts. Within the first two missions.

Buy this game.

Way better than the massive failure Watch_Dogs 1 was. Improved on pretty much all aspects, especially the fun factor. Though I would've preferred less of the game acting as if hackers are the only people who can solve all of society's problems.

MUCH better optimized than the disasters that were Arkham Knight and MKX on launch. The game itself is great, with solid mechanics, an engaging story and unexpectedly good character customization. Also, it has 'lootboxes' which drop gears, but those can't be bought with real money. You get them when you win matches, level your account up, complete challenges, etc. The only things you can spend money on are purely cosmetic, that is color shaders and reskins for some characters like a Reverse Flash skin for Flash. The gameplay itself is of course really deep, and each character can be played in radically different ways according to your playstyle.

EDIT: Ok I really like the game, but the prices are ridiculous, at least in India. The legendary edition is priced at INR 1499, which is almost half of what just the base game costs now (INR 2750), and the Ultimate Pack, which has, till date, NEVER gone on sale for some stupid reason, sits at a price of INR 3330, ie. the price of TWO Legendary Editions with some money still left over. So what you mean to say, WB Games, is that I should absolutely not buy any of your games at launch because I can't expect you to remember to realistically price your DLCs? Because if I buy the Ultimate Pack now, I will have spent enough money to buy not 1, not 2, not even 3, but f**king FOUR Legendary Editions at the current price. And that's without a discount. I can't support business practices like this.

This game bounced back pretty well after one of the worst PC launches of all time, but it still has its problems. It wouldn't be judged as harshly as it is if we didn't have the gold standards of Arkham Asylum and City to compare it to, but thankfully those two exist, so the shortcomings of Knight are a lot more visible.

First off though, the game looks absolutely amazing. And they really worked on the optimisation to make it run pretty decently on older systems as well. Music is ok, good but nothing memorable. Voice work is, as expected, stellar from Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, but Jonathan Banks (Mike from Breaking Bad) sounds a bit flat as Jim Gordon. The others are fine, though Riddler's voice will start to annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of you after a while.

On to gameplay, it's the same tried and tested formula of the Arkham series with some minor improvements, and a major one: the Batmobile. It really does feel like a billion dollar toy to ♥♥♥♥ up the bad guys' day with, but if I have one problem with it, it's that it's way overused. It would've great for just conveyance and the occasional fights, but it's clear that a lot of story and side missions were put in with the express purpose of using it without much thought. Why would the riddler create gigantic, badly booby-trapped race courses in the tunnels under the city? Why would the most skilled mercenary in the DC Universe, who's also a hand-to-hand combat expert, choose to face Batman in a tank battle, when Batman's destroyed hundreds of weaponized drones with the same tank in one night?

Finally coming to the most important part, that is the story, and to me, it's the weakest of the series even counting Arkham Origins. It might be a bit better for those who aren't familiar with one of the most acclaimed Batman stories ever told, but it borrows heavily from that story while making certain changes that I feel were not for the better. They certainly lied when they said the Arkham Knight was a "completely new" character in the lead-up to releasing the game; repackaging something doesn't make it new. Setting aside the Knight, Scarecrow is an OK main antagonist, though he doesn't get too much to do aside from monologue you about fear throughout the game.

Final thoughts: it's a pretty great game gameplay-wise, though it most probably will get repetitive after a certain point. Rocksteady tried to stuff too much into the game instead of the delicate balance between quality and quantity they had achieved in Asylum and City. But I'll still rate it positive because I did have a good time with it, flaws and all.

Final final thought: 243 stupid Riddler trophies for the honor of fighting him in a bad boss battle and an ending cutscene? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ seriously?! I'll just watch that ♥♥♥♥ on Youtube, thank you very much.

I played MGSV extensively on the PS3 when it first came out. The game is incredibly well optimized on the PC. First off, this game is weird, there's no denying it. But it's the good kind of weird, with gameplay so amazing you won't need to pay attention to whatever crazy ♥♥♥♥ is happening in the story, which includes a dude on fire, a telekinetic flying girl in a gas mask, a hospital patient's buttcheeks, and 2sp00ky4me parasite-enhanced super soldiers. And that's just within the first half-hour.

While the story is definitely... interesting, especially if you're a series veteran, to a newbie to MGS like me, the story can be completely ignored and the game still shines with a variety of missions and a plethora of ways to deal with them, and the arid deserts of Afghanistan and the lush forests of Central Africa providing great contrast to each other in terms of location.

The Mother Base-building aspect is a nice draw for me too, incentivizing non-lethal methods to ensure my base keeps developing. The progression system is slow-burn, but very rewarding, as you start out as a stone-cold badass and at the end of the game you're pretty much a superhero. Also, best dog companion in all of gaming.

9/10, would extract goats through wormholes again

A great example of how paid content in FTP games should be like: gives you nice to look at cosmetic items, and stuff that you can farm in-game just through playing. It makes you want to buy it to support the devs, even if you don't really need the items. Great job Hi-Rez, I hope your business practices do not go unnoticed and reflect on your success in these overpriced microtransaction-infested times.

To elaborate on exactly what this pack gives you:

i) A cool God of War themed skin set (body, head and weapon) for the champion Fernando

ii) An infernal skin for your mount (sets your horse on fire, basically)

iii) 20 loot chests, which drop mostly cards with which you can customize your loadouts for individual champions, but also have a chance of dropping random skins, and I hear they drop champions as well (though I personally haven't gotten any that way)

iv) All current champions are immediately unlocked, if you bought any of them with gold or crystals you are immediately refunded that amount, and all future champions will be automatically unlocked for free as they are introduced.

Hope this helps.
