I admit i haven't played a lot of top down shooters before so maybe that explains my difficulty in recommending this game, maybe those of you with more experience with TDS will appreciate it more the game is fun but somewhat repetitive and the bosses are a bit too same same, but the world is beautiful and extremely detailed i think it would be even more amazing if you could play it in first person mode, i'm giving it a thumbs up only cause steam doesn't have a ' meh' ranking

You can tell by the hrs played ( I have double these hrs on my XB ) that I love this game, I don't have the highest spec rig but it looks and plays beautifully even after all these yrs, maybe my only gripe is that i preferred the turn based combat of the OG games but other than that I love everything else about it.

Some people like to go on about performance specs and frame rates blah blah blah, I'm more interested in is it fun to play ? - mostly , are the characters interesting ? - not really, does it feel a bit padded out ? - some what yes, is it worth buying ? if its on special, is the first game a better experience ? absolutely
I'm giving this a thumbs up only because steam doesn't have a " meh " option it's not great its not terrible its just " meh "

I'm giving this a thumbs up but what we really need is a ' meh ' option , the overall story is okay but the two main characters just don't make me feel anything for them they are 1. annoying and 2. stupid , just about every other character you meet in the game is more interesting than these two , having said that the story is fairly interesting and the locations are beautiful to walk around in , it's a bit of a slow burn to start with especially in the first two episodes , but it does get more interesting as you go along and the pace picks up considerably in the last few episodes .
Once again DontNod have crafted a beautiful game and paired it with a great soundtrack , and have put in some connections to the original LiS as you go along which is a nice touch , One of my other criticisms is that DontNod seem to feel the need to fill the game with every racial / social stereotype they could find , religious zealots, bigots, red necks , immigrants , corrupt / incompetent police , which I'm sure was a way of acknowledging the issues in current day America but at times it felt a little forced.
I enjoyed a lot in the game mainly in the later episodes but it just doesn't grab me the same way the original did ( and still does to this day ) , some people will love it , some like me will be a bit unsure , and some will hate it . I guess the only way to find out which one is you is to give it a go and decide for yourself

I've realised that I have been looking at this game all wrong , trying to compare this to either LiS 1 or 2 isn't really fair , the characters are interesting to follow as they try to work through a family tragedy that they don't fully understand, The two main characters Tyler and Alison are reunited ten years after the death of their mother and return home to finalise their affairs and try to make sense of what happened all those years ago .

The setting and music are spot on , which is what you would expect from DontNod these days, my only problem is that you don't really become invested in any of the people in town with maybe the exception of Micheal, the rest sort of just come and go in the story but you don't really feel anything about them.

The story revolves around two questions , what happened the night their mother died ? and who is their father ? the first question isn't really answered until right at the end and I found it a bit unsatisfactory to be honest , the answer to the second question is pretty much thrown at you fairly early on.

What I did enjoy was watching Tyler and Alison try to work out exactly what sort of relationship they have with each other , one keeps looking back to the past, while the other only wants to look forward , and in the end realising that both of them are right and wrong for exactly the same reasons, the choices you make in the game will decide what sort of relationship they have at the end .

Like LiS it does touch on some dark themes and my only warning is that if you suffer PTSD ( like me ) it may trigger some unpleasant thoughts at different points during the game , but if you like story driven games like me you should enjoy it , just don't try to compare it to either LiS 1 or 2 as it really is it's own experience

Is this the worst ME game ever ? no , sorry ME 3 you still suck .
Is the best ME game of all time ? no , don't worry ME 1-2 I still love you .
I know there are a lot of problems with this game, the character models really really suck , and some of the level design leaves a lot to be desired, however the basic game is solid and while it has moved away from its roots somewhat thats ok, new galaxy, new species , new rules it is still an ME game at heart , still lots of dialogue that helps to push the story forward, exploration and aliens to blast , as long as you go into it not expecting the classic ME experience you shouldn't be too disappointed . Oh and the character models really do suck whoever designed them clearly doesn't know what the human face is supposed to look like .

When the trilogy remaster comes out I will definitely be giving it ago .

Do you like stabbing orcs ?
Do you like beheading orcs ?
Do you like setting orcs on fire ?
Do you like riding a gurag and ripping the heads off orcs ?
Do you like poisoning orcs ?
Do you like ripping orcs apart whilst riding a caragor ?
Do you like crushing orcs ?
Do you like blowing up orcs ?

If you said yes to any of the above questions then praise be to ( insert deity here ) do I have the game for you.
If you said no then you are possibly an orc, and I might have to stab you in the head ...... a lot

All of your orc killing fantasies rolled up in one neat package .
Let the orc killing begin .

I have been recently approached by the Orc support group 'Orc Reconciliation & Community Support' or ORCS , stating that my comments appeared to be Orcist and may lead to Orcs being discriminated against in the wider community, to which i replied by climbing up onto my Caragor and proceeded to rip off their heads before riding off with my flaming sword screaming '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ got to die '

Let me start by saying I love this game and if you like open world RPG's then this is a must play, some people have complained about how they feel Ubisoft have ripped them off regarding player development in the game , I can understand how people may feel since as a gay women the ending left me feeling a bit disappointed as I don't feel that the decisions I made as to how I played the game were respected , i decided to play as Kassandra and played her as a lesbian my decision I know and throughout the game I felt my choices were being respected , however as I got closer to the end I felt like my choices were being taken away and I was being led in a certain direction that was at odds with how I had wanted to play , in almost every game I play if I can I will always make my character female and if it allows me I will play her as being gay, but it almost felt like the devs had forgotten about the freedom they had allowed the players to have earlier and decided to go down a more traditional path , don't get me wrong I love AC games and Odyssey in particular , a huge open world lots to see and do , interesting characters and a great story line , but if you are going to allow players the choice to make their character be a certain way allow them to finish the game the same way they started , I know that a lot of people won't care and that's okay but for many people like myself growing up with games that forced a certain stereotype ( save the princess , only a man can save you blah blah blah) , the ability to play as a strong independent women is very appealing to myself and to many others , far too often the LBGTQI+ community is portrayed very poorly in movies and games ( Lexa is a prime example for me ) I just hope that next time the devs remember to respect how their players choices matter .

Who new that killing orcs could be so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun, i really have not really spent that much time on the main story line, i usually just roam around stabbing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in their big ugly heads all day, which by the way never ever gets old or boring, stunning visuals, great environments, looks great, plays great, the nemesis system means that battles never get old( and once you have BRUZ on your side things start to really heat up , well worth your time & money
