I've been playing this for a bit before I moved to the Steam version. I personally like the game, and understand why some people might not, however I have noticed that a lot of the low hour negative reviews do not quite understand the social aspects of the game.

This is not like a traditional MMO. There are no enemies in this game (except maybe time and money). The game gently pushes you toward social activities, and it became way more fun as I joined a community where we do things together, for example tonight we had a cake party where we made 100 cakes together that were then sold for 72k. Some things in the game require other players to complete, such as cutting down the larger flow trees, and people typically also wait for others before cutting down groves (groups of flow trees that happen every game day). You fish faster when fishing next to other people, and break trees and rocks faster when doing it with someone else as well. The top tier of the creatures to hunt need multiple shots, and are taken down faster with a group. There are probably things I'm forgetting, but none of these are forced interactions, they're just there for you to take advantage of.

I do really like the building system, decorating houses is actually interesting and well done. I wish a bit that you could place objects closer together sometimes, and that you could resize things, but this isn't Wildstar. I also really like the NPCs, I think they did a very good job not info dumping npc backgrounds on you, and I like that they each reference things you learn about the others and things you've answered them in the past.

It also works pretty well on my Steam Deck, though I have configured a layout for my personal use over time with adjustments to do things easier or that were missing controller support for.
