I don't recommend this game.

The game itself is enjoyable, it's an interesting mix of your typical ARPG (e.g. Diablo, Path of Exile) with some reverse bullet hell (e.g. Vampire Survivors).

But sadly the game is plauged by a bug that has existed since early access. It's a bug that causes your auto-attack toggle to toggle off without your input. They half-fixed it a couple of months ago (the bug now happens less frequently) but it's still a big enough of an issue to make me lose interest everytime I try to sit down and play.

The reason why I do not recommend this game is due to the way they implemented controls.

In Path of Exile 2 you can use WASD or Twin-stick to play the game. This in of itself is not a problem, the problem is that the game is designed with this control scheme in mind. This means that the optimal way to play the game is WASD or Twin-stick.

Playing the traditional way will leave you feeling weak due to not being able to move as well as the aforementioned. But not only that, unlike other games that implement different control schemes, in Path of Exile 2 your character will move oddly - your character will feel like it's ice-skating in a very floaty movement type of way. This makes the traditional way not only weaker but also imprecise and frustrating to play (because your character doesn't move in the way you expect them to do).

The game itself is decent, barring some other odd decisions (but decisions that can be fixed in the beta). But the control scheme is very unlikely to be fixed and therefore I don't recommend this game.

There is currently reviewbombing going on. This is due to India getting a formable nation that includes Tibet and Shanghai. Many such wacky formables already exist, but this formable seems to have upset many Chinese players.

Posting this to try and counter it a bit.

I have 6k+ hours played but hadn't posted a review yet, you can probably guess by my playtime that I think it's a good game. Hearts of Iron 4 has the best battle mechanics in this style of grand strategy games and huge modding community that creates many amazing mods.

This is my second time trying the game (I got a few hours on Battlenet).

Diablo 4 just isn't it. It lacks a "soul" and feels very "generic". The game doesn't bring excitement in the way other ARPGs can and it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause(s). But I'll do a short bullet point list of things I've noticed so far:

* With the amount of microtransactions this game has it should be F2P. It feels very predatory and leaves a bad impression.
* As a minion player, Necromancer feels very boring
* The MMO-aspect detracts from the experience. Seeing random players out in areas, the MMO-esque hub towns and mounts feel like they don't belong and changes the game into something else.

I played this during the free weekend.

It seemed fun, but I have not been able to play for any greater length to be able to determine the game's longevity.

The game runs badly for me, constant stuttering/hitching making it really unplayable.

i7 6700k
16GB ram
GeForce 980

Everything up-to-date driver-wise, and no performance issues with any other game I play (check my profile to see which I play). CPU usage seems unusually low, which I suspect might be the culprit.

The weird thing is that cutscenes within the game seem to run silky smooth, so I don't know what's up with that.

Decent survival game.

Questionable ethics in the development.

Almost all of the customization options are too silly and don't fit the theme of the game. They did however add new 'slots' (e.g. left/right arm prop) on the character for inserting some of the new customizaions so we might start seeing more customizable mods. from the modding community.

The value of the DLC is okay, if you don't mind the immersion-breaking options. But as a whole I cannot recommend this DLC.

I got this in an Indie-bundle and boy was I surprised by this game. It's a mixture of sandbox & survival but the thing that makes this (often repeated mixture) stand out is that it's strategic gameplay. If you've ever imagined what it would be like to really run & manage a group of survivors of a zombie outbreak, then this is your best bet.

If you like Kenshi you'll almost definitley like this.
If you played State of Decay but wanted more management and less action then you'll definitley like this.

* Sandbox-builder/survival in space (asteroids). There's a creative mode and a survival mode, the former is more suitable if you want to quickly build things without having to care about the survival side of things.
* Developers are attentive to the community, they are also releasing one new patch every week (have been doing so for many months now). Every patch generally consists of various bug/balance/stability fixes, new block and/or new mechanic.
* Modding support, and just recently early stages of scripting has been made possible.

All in all, I feel that it's one of the best and most promising Sandbox games since Minecraft.
